According to reports in France we are at an advanced stage in a move to sign Remy Cabella. Apparently the player and his agent (who is his father) are due to discuss personal terms with NUFC early this week. The sticking point is that Montpellier are requesting 10million euros and we have offered only 8million. Sounds like it might be true then.

English club Newcastle did Rémy Cabella one of its priorities for this summer. Contact between the different parts is already well established .

Rémy Cabella should leave Montpellier, his former club this summer during the transfer window. Remains to be seen which club will continue his career , one that is part of the reserve team of France for the next World Cup. Several clubs have expressed interest in Cabella , author of 14 goals this season.

APPOINTMENT THIS WEEK

And one of them has already gone into high gear . Newcastle has indeed made the French one of its priorities. According to our information , the contact is already established between the different parties. A new meeting between representatives of the player and the English club leaders should be held in early this week .

MONTPELLIER REQUEST 10 MILLION

Between the two clubs, discussions are also underway. Montpellier request € 10 million for the midfielder . For now, Newcastle proposes EUR 8 million. But the English club should quickly return to the charge . To be continued ...

I'm sure with how much Nicolin loves Newcastle United, something will be worked out.........................
 
It's crafty negotiating. If Montpellier drop it to 8, we'll say "nah, 6m and not a penny more". It's the famous Newcastle Line.
 
Good player. Didn't his agent/dad say in January something like "He's joining Newcastle but not in the winter window". Think we were interested at one point.
 
If it's being reported before it's happened - it ain't gonna happen!
I wish the journos would just punt out a 'Newcastle are NOT going to sign anyone' story every week or so.
It's much more believable and would give us a lovely surprise if we did sign someone.

Problem is we need loads more.
 
Julien Laurens has just been on Talksport confirming that NUFC are looking to sign Cabella and that things are looking positive in that regard. He also said that we are after another two French players as well as Cabella and 'were not done with France'. I know talksport are terrible but Laurens is usually fairly reliable.
