    It's only remembered for the arguments now

    When I was a kid you got a poppy from a wee old lady, your grandad went to a ceremony on a Sunday and by then you'd either lost or left the poppy somewhere

    Now it's a two month campaign trying to shame people much like the white feathers from ww1 with concerts, clowns dressed head to toe in poppies, expensive poppy broaches on celebs (because they care more than regular people) and tabloids who don't know what respect is measuring how far you can bow while holding a wreath

    Not one thought given to the message of ending war

    It should be done away with, let the government fund the RBL

    Government officials laying wreaths and showing respect whilst cutting funding for armed services!

    Celebrities wearing diamond studded poppies whilst avoiding tax!

    People getting harangued for not wearing one.

    However, I do believe if their is a minute silence held that you shut the **** up for a minute.

    I was completely with you till the last sentence. Rather than doing away with it they should try to bring it back to what it was and show up the hypocrites for what they really are - sadly it's probably easier to scrap it though.
