Right people, we've now got the bottom 3 confirmed and I was wondering who, if anyone, you guys would like us to try and sign from the relegated teams?

Personally I would quite like McManaman and Maloney from Wigan and possibly Karacan from Reading. Not interested in any QPR players myself due to wages / attitude of most of them.

No one from Reading.

McManaman is probably worth a pop.

Remy if his wage demands aren't obscene.

Qpr - None
Reading - None
Wigan - McManaman looks good, but same answer, none.

I want MP to have input, I don't want us linked with Hooper & co this summer. Also, while there's any chance of losing NC I hope we are linked to nobody with a bigger than £10M price tag, it would be unhealthy. We need a few additions, but I'd like the five year plan back in place first.

Kone, McManaman, McCarthy (the Wigan one), Remy, le Fondre.

I wouldn't be interested in Maloney or Karacan.

I imagine Alex McCarthy will stay at Reading, quite a lot of young keepers get good experience in the championship and he'll probably be first choice for them next season.

I'd take McManaman certainly but I expect he'll have better offers sadly. Wigan have a few good attack-minded players. McCarthy, McArthur and Maloney are all decent too.

Alex McCarthy - perfect understudy for Boruc although I do think Gazzaniga is more than capable and should be given another chance at the club after being thrown in at the deep end.

Callum McNanaman - bags of potential although I can see him ending up at his hometown club Everton, even more likely if Martinez ends up there.

Callum McNanaman i agree with, would hate to have Le Fondre.
Qpr - Nobody
Reading - Nobody

Posted mcmanaman on the rumours site before reading this, apologies. James McCarthy I like a lot but maybe we have enough options for the cm with ward-prowse and Davis as 3rd and 4th choice. Remy is class but won't come to us (cash reasons, and will probably go to one of the big boys as a squad filler). I like Pearce from reading, we had him on loan previously but we may be thinking bigger than him. Alex McCarthy looks to be good but isn't better than boruc IMO. Taarabt is also a good player bit obviously has a bad temperament and would disrupt any team, needs to be the main man for a club and be pandered to. Like Figueroa but not sure on his age etc

If we are serious about challenging at the top of the PL we need better players than any in the relegated sides.

This. Long may the days of picking at relegated teams and other championship clubs be over, the coming seasons will be exciting by buying players from abroad or in the PL. this transfer window is going to be amazing

You get top players in relegated sides ... just cos they've gone down, doesn't mean some of them are not good enough individually

That's possibly true S4L but not many. As others have said bar a couple at Wigan I think we could do much better in Europe than in the Championship.
