As we seem to lack creativity at the moment, I wonder if we could persuade Xavi to play two more years for us in the PL as his time at Barca seems to be up!! I know he is 36 but given his fitness levels, lifestyle I reckon he would be a wonderful summer signing if Koeman has the touch of Lawrie Mac about him. I think with a presence like that, the likes of Reed and Ward-Prowse would learn enormously about their own game and that of others around them.

He could hang out with his own hero then too (Tiss, in case anyone didn't know that).

I love this idea. Without checking facts, i'm sure Xavi would have been at Barca whilst Koeman was a coach.
If we make Europe, if Xavi wants to sample another country before he retires and perhaps have a stepping stone into coaching then I don't see a downside. Shirt sales would potentially help cover his wage bill

The main downside being that Xavi wouldn't come here. He will get a bumper deal in the MLS if he decides to carry on playing.
