As we seem to lack creativity at the moment, I wonder if we could persuade Xavi to play two more years for us in the PL as his time at Barca seems to be up!! I know he is 36 but given his fitness levels, lifestyle I reckon he would be a wonderful summer signing if Koeman has the touch of Lawrie Mac about him. I think with a presence like that, the likes of Reed and Ward-Prowse would learn enormously about their own game and that of others around them.
I love this idea. Without checking facts, i'm sure Xavi would have been at Barca whilst Koeman was a coach. If we make Europe, if Xavi wants to sample another country before he retires and perhaps have a stepping stone into coaching then I don't see a downside. Shirt sales would potentially help cover his wage bill
The main downside being that Xavi wouldn't come here. He will get a bumper deal in the MLS if he decides to carry on playing.
