Delusional you don't really think Hughes saved us from relegation
No more delusional than believing Redknapp won us promotion. What's the difference except your personal likes and dislikes?
I've wondered recently whether Redknapp's overly familiar relationship with Tony might've made him a bit complacent. If you're incredibly chummy with your boss there's probably less pressure to perform. Applauding the spurs fans could potentially demonstrate a lack of respect for the club resulting from having total free reign to do what he likes.
A new contract would only exacerbate that..?

I dislike them both but agree completely with you on this Stan.
How it is possible to acclaim Redknapp for our promotion but not Hughes for our avoidance of relegation is beyond me. Equally to criticise Redknapp & not Hughes for these two episodes is also beyond me.
Thankfully, I'm safe on this subject. Neither will receive praise from me!
I am a little concerned about the future though. I thought I only had to get through this season with HR in control. I don'tknow that I can handle longer!

It is undeniable that Redknapp was our manager when we were promoted. It is equally undeniable that Hughes was our manager when we avoided relegation. If you take the line that the manager can take 100% credit for the achievement and performance of the team I suppose that is pretty clear cut. It also implies that the manager should take 100% responsibility for the failures of the team as well.

Agreed. I don't rate Hughes or Arry as they were / have been with us. Colin was the last good Manager we had.
Do you know what? I never warmed to Colin as a character, but he had average player performing at or near the top of their ability, with little/no owner support. And he also gave the impression of enjoying himself. Hughes and Redknapp have had better players underperforming, with massive and enthusiastic owner support and been thoroughly miserable with it.
Personally I give credit to Warnock for the points gained in the first half of the season, Hughes achieved virtually the same with a huge spend that was the start of our demise.
Love him or hate him the one thing Harry has is luck on his side always has and some poeple are born lucky so to that end I would rather have him and I do rate him.
Each to there own but please do not give that git Hughes any credit makes my blood boil.

He did same as the papers now say Harold got us promoted he did. Anyone who casts Hughes in the pot as useless knows very little about football. Hughes had a poor record and IMO was finally set upon and somehow Harold pushed the blame there records show Harold got us relegated and promoted. You will see in time that Hughes is in fact a far better manager than Harry Redknapp
Well pretty certain in time you will see things differently. Harold isn't born lucky and he makes it his own He is able to do this by winning over public support over the years … hardly a day goes by without him in the press. That is because he carefully manages his own destiny like bloody Keyser Söze. A few on here saw that straight away and credit to them … when ever i see a post about the dreadful Hughes it makes my blood boil as it does with Bosingwa who was OK a bit of a prat but a bloody good footballer and I would have him back tomorrow in this current team. Dunne now faces the same treatment on here and Barton who is clearly not good enough for this division espaces without fault. I love this place for entertainment
C'mon Stan, are you winding us up? Hughes took over when we were 17th, spent a sh*t load and finished..................17th.

I don't actually appreciate the insunuation that I know nothing about football, I thought you were better than that. For your information I claim to know very little on football but use my insticnt and life experience to gauge what it's all about and from where I stand I'm probably a good guesser that gets it right more often than not espicially when i read the absolute tosh written on here most days by people that appear to be lacking in something or other.
I purposly stayed away from this board for about six months because the utter garbage that was written slagging out team off espicially the manager day in day out and than reading in disbelief that these people knew about football. I can tell you they knew nothing compared to me and I claim to know sweet FA.
Not much gets my goat but your two posts pressed the right buttons Dave and the cobblers about Bosingwa is unbelievable forget what he can do with a ball and look what he does with his attitude and he is a cancer that needs to cut out and burned never to return. Come on you know about bad apples don't you????
Dunne is a good player and should start some games but for me he is past his best and will do a great job from the bench ( this is my FIRST comment on Dunne).
Harry will do a good job albeit his way tread on plenty of toes and is putting together a fine squad so far, looks like one that will be here way after he is.
As for Hughes i will not waste my breath.
