Quite right HIAG, you, me, anybody could have opened an offshore account, there was/is no legislation to say you can't, and HMRC would know the reason why, in my own case of course it was to not pay tax, I told them that knowing there was fuk all they could do about it.

As said, if the ordinary man on the street knows nothing about it...why comment?

You think so? I am sure Capello got away with tax evasion and he is now England manager! It would actually be a shame if he did get sent down. I am not a big fan of him personally but he has worked wonders at your club and that work could potentially be undone through no fault of THFC! I admit to not knowing much about the case however I take the fact he is a well known personality and they usually get leniency in cases like this.

This is the risk he is taking by putting the public purse to the trouble of prosecuting him. The case will have cost the taxpayer a couple of million quid by the time it's all done. Plus, if he's found guilty, not only will the judge have to take into account the fact that he evaded paying taxing and that he tried to hide the evidence in an off-shore bank account, but that he lied to both the police and the court in order to hide the facts.

If you want to avoid going to jail for an offence that carries a hefty prison sentence, the thing to do is to admit it early on and throw yourself on the mercy of the court. Harry has chosen not to do that.

He is putting his faith in being acquitted.

Just disabusing certain people of this romantic notion that, should Harry be found guilty, he'll more than likely be let off with a non-custodial sentence. On the contrary, he'll be extremely fortunate to escape with a non-custodial sentence, and it is more likely that he'll do porridge, even if it's only a short spell.

I don't know whether or not Harry is guilty. I hope he isn't. What I will say is that things don't look good so far, for him.

Mr. Redknapp's facial disfigurement is due to injuries sustained in a fatal car accident.

Dodd was also revealed to have very little money in his bank account, having £336,000 in cash stashed in suitcases in his attic. When asked by the judge, "What does a hundred thousand pounds in a suitcase feel like?", Dodd made his now famous reply, "The notes are very light, M'Lord."

Dodd was represented by George Carman, who in court famously quipped, "Some accountants are comedians, but comedians are never accountants".The trial lasted three weeks: Dodd was acquitted.

No I don't know more than Portsmouth officials at the time, what i do know is the first time Portsmouth were known/reported to have financial problems was 2008 resulting in administration in 2009, 7 years after the Crouch deal and therefore the alleged payments.
The club would have been audited annually and if they'd been in financial trouble in 2002 and managed to conceal this fact until 2008 then I'd suggest there were far bigger irregularites going on at the club than the odd bonus payment to the manager.
