Talkshite had her in the news on the morning. Said “you can see how she gets on” but this was the only game mentioned. Quite embarrassing that they basically said “we’re going to watch you like a hawk cos you’re a woman”

It's only going to become more and more prevalent. Women are going to come into the men's game in a big way. It's happening in most other sports. Especially in the US.
The idea that the US are more progressive than us in any matter makes me feel a bit queasy.

I can't see any reason why a woman shouldn't ref a game mesell. But she will have the search light on her, way more than any bloke reffing such a game.

At least this will stamp out players arguing with the ref. Why bother? I say this in both jest and seriously. Can you imagine a player giving her both barrels. He would be publicly shamed. 'You musnt treat a lady like that?'

I saw a female ref in the Isthmian League a season or two ago. She didn't have a particularly good game but that was nothing to do with her gender. It was a bad-tempered game, with a couple of deserved sendings off. The players treated her like she was a male ref though i.e. screaming in her face etc.

My wife worked with her at the NHS PPA
I hope she washed the cups up as well, like they say a woman's work is never done.
In all fairness I hope she does well, and it's not like she even needs to be that good to be better than the useless twats we've had this season
She was the first appointed woman referee not the first woman ref to do a mans game
