I spent a solitary week working in Hull on a legal placement in the summer of 2003. I walked from a shabby hotel on the outskirts to the firm which was by a park in the middle (Queens Park? Not sure). The highlight was a guy in his motorised wheelchair who used to ride through the precinct waiting for the shops to open blaring out Layla. It was a scene straight out of Pheonix Nights. The Deep was good though, as was Beverley when i visited on my way home.
That is precisely what tourist information told me when i went in. "Have you seen the bridge?". It felt a lot like she was telling me that if i wanted tourist attractions i should get the hell out of town.
To clarify, Beverley is a nice village rather than a slut. Sadly i got no action whilst in Hull so can't judge. The entire place smelled of fish to me though, at the time i assumed it was the docks but maybe i was the only one not getting action.
Yeah, in what i thought was the city centre. It was right by where all the barristers and law firms are, not far from the courts unsurprisingly. I used to sit there to eat my boots meal deal lunch. By myself.
Yup. Prior to that I don't think i had anything. I drew some eastern European country and found this beauty was one of their models/presenters. I've grown rather attached.
summary - Arsenal have been on top for decades then, overall count is: Arsenal 88 Spurs 48 but never mind nice try PS we won’t bother doing the whole how many trophies thing as we all know the results
No sane person would contend that Spurs have been better than Arsenal historically. But we've now got an owner who understands what it takes to turn us from a cup team to a challenger for the League. It's a big task but I hope we can do it. Being born in 1956, it was an absolute shock to me when Arsenal won the double in 1971 as prior to then they had been a midtable side with no trophies for the whole of my life. But in reality that just returned Arsenal to their historical dominance.
so you are old enough to just about remember the 61 win, but have lived through all of Arsenals success from 71 onwards - must have been tough. have you new owners then, as ENIC have not really been known to splash the cash when they need to or helped to push you on, and your league position this season is the worst for how many years, so going backwards or pausing. I know we are **** atm but what happened as you made CL and top 4. also how are Spurs a cup team as you last won it in 1991 ffs - or was that you being self deprecating
I expect that will continue unless the whole ethos of the club changes to compete with the likes of Man City. You can't guarantee that by spending money. You do it by changing the fabric of the club. Hence the new stadium. Compare it to the Emirates and you will see which club has ambition.
Arsenal had the chance to blow Chelsea and Spurs away by building a world leading stadium. They just built a bang average one. So it didn't stop their decline. ENIC seem to me to have the right long term plan. Get world class infrastructure to permanently improve the cash position. It doesn't guarantee success but at least gets us on to the same level as the biggest clubs. Look at any league in the world over a long period and you have to be in the top 3 on income to have long term success.
Emirates, bang average ****ing hell, you spuds are more deluded than we thought.. enjoy your ****ing cheese room.
