RDM is never going to be a top 4 manager, nor the "king" of Europe. You punched above your weight, there, last season. AVB did all the donkey work, and would have been a great manager for you, if the mad Russian had given him the time to get rid of your lazy players. But he goes, and straight away you jump on his back, and not the Russians.
Well, now where are you going to lay the blame? The players? RDM? The mad Russian?

I have never shied away from the fact that I believe AVB to be a risk. But, by the same token, every man and his cat knows that you never gave him a chance. They also know that RDM rode in on his back.
For christsake, Drogs! This was always going to be RDM's greatest challenge. It's a known fact that had Guardiola been available, RDM would have walked. He is not your first choice. He has a chance to prove himself this season, and he has a great squad with which to do it, but please do not pretend that you do not have your own concerns. And tonight will only have served to have amplified them.

Why do you keep bringing this other ****e into it? I agree that we sacked AVB too early, I wanted him to succeed but he was doing a terrible job at the time and in hindsight it turned out to be the correct decision. My gripe is that you are going back on what you said at around november-jan time, you criticised everything about AVB and his managerial ability. I remember at one point you said we'd never win anything as long as he was in charge.
