I am not a religious man so I will say to his family. Be proud very proud he was a true gentleman and great player.
My son who is now 22 reminded me of the times in the lower east when it was the family enclosure and Ray would stand up at half time and sign autographs until the second half started and had no break from his press duties . We always had a laugh that Ray would chase you to give an autograph how i cherish those chats with him when you could get him for a minute to yourself about the old days now . How did we lose that in 1 generation my son will never have that connection with the players we had .
Very sad loss, one of the few who played at top level home and abroad, always with distinction. A true Blue to the end, a gentleman and a Club Great.
