The current Rangers team (effectively a poorer team than the one of 2008) is starting with the major disadvantage of having to go through a number of qualifying ties just to reach the group stages of a competition which offers little in the way of co-efficient points and money.

I don't think some Rangers fans realise just how pish you are. You finished 3rd BEHIND Aberdeen and if Hibs weren't so naive at defending you might not have even finished that high. You're now relying on a youth team coach with no managerial experience guiding you to the group stages of a competition which teams on a par with yourselves (Aberdeen, Hibs etc.) have regularly failed to qualify for.

You're no better than the teams you cite as being "pumped out of Europe in the early qualifying rounds and brought nothing to the table" yet somehow you think Rangers are going to improve the co-efficient of Scottish teams in Europe.

Deary me.

We know exactly how pish we are. But even as bad as we are we still beat Aberdeen three out of four times and would have finished above them if Celtic didn't throw that game.

Pumped 5-0 by Celtic (could have been 10) and lost five goals to Hibs but, aye, it's our fault you finished 3rd. :1980_boogie_down:

Well thats terrible news for Celtic then cos if the last 5 years are anything to go by then qualifying for Europe will become impossible in the coming years.

May well be the case but that's not Celtic's fault. I suspect we'll be seeing a major revamp of European football again in a few years time with first tier and second tier competitions. Sadly, Scottish football teams will be in the 2nd tier.

It's already happening,next season 4th in place in England,Germany,Spain and Italy will not have to play a qualifying round and go straight to group stages in CL.

I didn't say it was Celtic's fault we finished third. It really is like conversing with a toddler when interacting with you. You know **** all about football apart fae the fact you really really don't like Rangers.

It's actually easier for Celtic to qualify for the group stages now than it was a couple of seasons ago.
