For what it is worth, Sky has just reported that QPR did have a meeting with Laudrup's agent, BUT they say that is was driven by the agent and NOT the club. They didn't say who from the club went to the meeting. Les probably had a chat with him over a pint.
 
I'm happy with this appointment til end of season. Fed up of "high profile" managers getting found out at our club, ie Hughes and Redknapp - Ramsey seems unassuming and just wants to get on with his job without being a media darling - if he can carry on the way he's started, and he creeps along under the media radar and we survive then I'm sure we'll all be chanting his name from the stands.
 
Good appointment imo.
He got a good reaction from the team on Tuesday, from what I hear he is a very well qualified and respected coach.
This at least gives him an opportunity to practice or put into place what he has spent years teaching.
Will be behind him win lose or draw !

Even if he does he will have invested a big chunk of his personal fortune in our small, unfashionable football club. I like his passion and I can deal with the screw-ups (do it myself all the time) but he needs to make some urgent progress on the new ground to really cement the deal with us fans. Out of interest, if people could choose their owner from those currently in charge of the PL clubs would any of the others be preferable?

He is head of development at the moment which ticks the "bring youth through" box.

Well liked and has the dressing room and keeps us up.

I think TF wil struggle to keep hold of him if we do stay up.

It seems to me that TF has lined up his 'dream manager' for a summer appointment and has acted to quell the short-term speculation by giving Ramsey the job until then. Not much to argue with there - apart from too much twitteration, perhaps. The difficulty comes if Ramsey keeps us up and TF has to decide whether the dream boy should replace the new hero. A happy problem to have though.

I'm happy if Chris Ramsey is appointed for the remainder of the season. He seems a genuine guy and wants the club to do well. The major thing I like about Ramsey is he doesn't seem to have a personal agenda or an ego to satisfy. He just seems content and happy and wanting to do well. This seems to be rubbing off on the players too.

Barton commented how things were already improved in training and we saw some positive evidence on Tuesday night.

We should all back Ramsey and the players to the end of the season as long as they put in the effort, most of us can take whatever the outcome.

I completely agree with the sentiment that Ramsey's the man for the job right now. The players seem to like him, he has the philisophical approach about viewing the work he's doing as developmental and caretaking with a mission to stay up. It gives the club time and space to make the right long-term decision and not risk spending a ridiculous amount of money to nab someone now knowing there is a real risk of relegation.

I'm sure that's what scuppered the early discussion with Tim Sherwood. He probably wanted a lot of money considering that he knew that he might end up managing a Championship (or worse given the FFP fines) team at seasons' end. The same will be the case with any other manager.

Ramsey is a good guy and so far has produced more hopeful results than Harry has.

Ramsey is exactly what QPR need, a man who has served his apprenticeship as a coach and is at the right stage of his career to step up to the top job. He will work with the players he has, work with them to maximize their abilities and give them clear tactical direction without the interference of 3 or 4 right hand men like Harry had in Jordan, Bond and Hoddle, as the old saying goes"to many chiefs and not enough Indians!"
 
Looking at CR's coaching career he has had some success. He managed the England U20s that won the 1999 World Youth Championships and won a league title in the U.S. then joined Spurs academy, which is now producing the likes of Harry Kane.

My point is he has learnt his trade and gained the experience to be given this chance.

Well done TF about time we realised what type of man we needed to lead the team.
 
If l was Ramsey, I'd insist of a clause in his contract that states, 'if it all turns to sh-it, he can then revert back to his previous position.'
That way, he covers his backside and safe guards his future.
He shouldn't be shafted at a latter stage because he tried to help the club.
Things have a way of going sour, regardless of who you are.
