He's a big name but not a top manager. I'd say he's probably at his level now. He's the manager of your worst ever style of play in your entire premier league existence.

He won leagues at Valencia, a great achievement at the time but at that time Barca and Real were far from dominant, that was a great attacking side mind, he may have inherited it I don’t know.
Liverpool were worse when he left, Chelsea he did what anyone would have expected, and Napoli he signed a load of Spaniards at great cost and didn’t get any closer to Juve.
Funnily enough, year after he left Napoli they had there best season since Maradona, he did a good job there for sure but spent eye watering amounts.
He’s never succeeded at a big club, that’s cast iron fact, he doesn’t buy well, and he doesn’t develop youth.
He also plays paint dryingly awful football, I don’t get it.
If anything, he’s at his level, could argue as a man that’s done **** all for 10 years he should be at leisure with Mourinho and Curbishley.
I’m not sure we are his level. Rafa is above fighting relegation. I would say his career has stagnated somewhat after Liverpool and his stints at Madrid and Inter were quite frankly piss poor. At Chelsea he did well given the fan pressure etc but it could easily be argued that he achieved what was expected!? His time at Napoli I couldn’t comment on if I am being honest.
For me, I couldn’t care less about style. It would be nice to play fast flowing football and sweep the opposition away like Liverpool and City but given our constraints, I’m not sure it’s possible. Plus I’m one of those people who enjoy the result rather than the performance.
As I mentioned elsewhere in this thread, I’d swap Rafa for Puel. They offer the same. Puel might moan less about lack of money and may be less political though which has its merits
