Much in the way we currently study heiroglyphics and wonder what on earth they're supposed to mean.

 

I can imagine in the far off future, a whole episode of ancient aliens being devoted to not606 and the cult of mito.

 

I see it used every once in a while, but it's not commonly used in modern language. Words tend to come in and out of favour though, so it may make a comeback some day

 

It's probably an age thing as well. People occasionally still say 'is that gospel?' for 'is that true?'. Or 'that came out of the ark' for something that looks really old. There are still a few vestiges of biblical references in common parlance.

 

There are actually lots of sayings that are taken directly from the bible that most people don't know are biblical references.

Writing is on the wall
Fly in the ointment
Drop in a bucket
Sign of the times
Fall by the wayside
The eleventh hour

There are lots more.

 

I could see William shatner profiling my life and the lad with the spikey hair claiming I was actually communing with advanced beings to bring knowledge no ordinary human could possibly know.
