It's not about the merits per se of 4 3 3. The main point is, a manager has to adapt to get the best out of what he's got. He also had a big say on the many players we've brought in (albeit on a limited budget). McCann failed miserably first time round in the Championship, and has failed miserably again this season in the Championship, due in no small part to the fact that he sticks with basically the same approach (with very limited variations).
Frankly I'd rather stick drawing pins in my nackers than have McCann around for a nano second longer than necessary.
We also had other reasonable options on the bench to replace our two wide players, which didn't especially weaken us.....White, Bristol loanee, Cardiff loanee, Scott (before he went off the boil). We have a much weaker squad this time
