I think Tyler Roberts is probably beginning to understand that in the Championship you dont get a free kick every time you dive on the floor if the opposition breathe on you. Tim has very quickly adapted to this level and its amazing how many times you think he has lost the ball and then a big long leg pops out and he has it under control.

For those of you that watch on QPR+ isnt it amazing how many times in commentary that Nick London calls Ethan Laird, Paal. Its a good job there are two centre halves between them or he would have Paal passing to Paal.

I dont think ours is the best squad in the league but we seem to have a group of players that are very bonded. Beale has done a brilliant job thus far and is doing really well at giving game time when necessary. He has nursed Lyndon through a very difficult period but last night he proved that he can be a match winner.

I think Roberts was the only under 7/10 performer.
Frustrating as there's something there, but never a premier league player.
Can we call Tim, Pogba as i will never be able to spell his name and his languid style reminds me of a young Pogba?
Not the finished article but the first central midfield player I have seen at Rangers in a long while that can run away from players WITH the ball.

I don’t really understand the ‘Chair needed to step up’ sentiments I’ve read (not so much on here). He’s been full of energy and movement all over the pitch all season, a lot more to him than the spectacular goals. He’s clearly loving it this season as well.

I’d like to see a bit more from Roberts, but I suspect I might be missing quite a bit of what he does. He certainly gets kicked a lot (or makes the most of contact). He has a lovely touch and movement, more of a link player than an out and out striker.

I like Beale highlighting Kakay post match. He’ll never be the worlds best but he’s full of running, gets the crosses in (ok of variable quality) and is getting better. Hey, he’s obviously being coached!

I’m still pinching myself a bit this morning. This is fun.

Kakay put in a great shift.

He played very well and was much more adventurous with his offensive play. Put in some great crosses, not to mention the assist

Hopefully it will be a great confidence boost!

Actually iId give Kakay 6 and that was for his cross.
Aside from that i thought he was terrible. Harsh but true.

Yeah, since the legendary Samba Diakite. Though he had usually amputated the opponents legs before he ran away from them.
We're blessed with CBs at the moment. Clarke-Salter was excellent last night.
The ease with which we switched to a back three last night speaks volumes for the CBs and even more for the coaches. Remember when Redcrapp had an entire summer to set up for a back three, bought players like Ferdinand R and Isla (good player) to do it and gave up after one game because Hill and Barton couldn’t work it?

The bad old days.

Am i correct that in last 5 games we have only conceded a pen and an OG (Wells' shot was not going in)?

Dunne Dickie and C-Salter back 3

And also he rejuvinated the midfield:- Tim5vowels slipping seamlessly into Fields position

And Amos and Dozzell...taking over the midfield

IT WAS ALMOST AS THOUGH WE HAD PRACTISED IT AND KNEW WHAT WE WERE DOING

I think that's v harsh on Kakay. He put in a few more good crosses - some where no one gambled on the near post and others that were well defended. He also was positionally good and helped us keep them pinned back after the formation change.

Diakite was at the game last night.

Different referee and we could have won that 3-0. Their penalty was never a penalty as 5V didn't touch him - he had his foot there first and the Reading player trod on it and went down like a sack of potatoes. Possibly because he has been trained to go down on the slightest contact as per the wisdom of Alan Shearer when he is not being sanctimonius. Didn't he talk about entitlement to do so if you are touched in the penalty area? I suppose I can't say it's a man's game any longer but diving should be obvious to any good referee. Can't really blame 5V for giving a penalty away. And of course before that we should have had one for the most blatant handball. Whether you apply the old rule 'hand to ball rather than vice versa' or the new one - unnatural position away from his body the result should have been the same.

But don't you see a Reading squad that is not really built for the future. Hendrick and Carroll played well..but with Yiadom, Hoillett and Lumley in team... can't really see it.

I gather their support expected to be in a fight at the bottom and have been pleasantly surprised with how well they have done. With their problems they might be concentrating on surviving this season, rather than the "future".

Beale claimed they had been practising playing with a back 3 a bit.
