- On the eve of the 2025/26 Sky Bet Championship season, the club would like to provide an update on the players currently working their way back to full fitness. Unfortunately, Jonathan Varane sustained a concussion in our friendly against Brentford last weekend. He is expected to be available for next Saturday’s fixture at Watford – in line with The FA’s concussion protocol. Paul Smyth is progressing well from a minor groin injury sustained in pre-season. He has returned to training and is expected to be available for the trip to Watford, too. Meanwhile, Jimmy Dunne sustained a hip injury against Brentford. He will undergo further scans this coming weekend to confirm a timeline for his return. Taylor Richards picked up a hamstring injury in our friendly versus Cardiff and is expected to return at the end of August. Finally, Michi Frey (calf) and Jake Clarke-Salter (post-surgical recovery) are both due to return to full training during the first international break of the season.
So nothing about Cook...so he's probably dead. Dunne is out for a long time. Hips take a long time. Was Varane on long enough to get concussion !! ???? So 3 of our possible starting 11 are out. Sounds so familiar
QPR FC @qpr Chloe's coming home @chloekelly will be with us on Saturday, walking out with the match ball at KO! ⚽️
