Match Preview;
So, we go again. A new manager in charge, in the shape of Julien Stephan, who joins us after two years at Stade Rennais, where he won 18, lost 16 and drew 7 of his 41 games in charge. After a few names were thrown around by various 'media' sources...we've gone for Stephan, apparently on a two year contract with the option for a third year.

Since he arrived, we've signed Rumarn Burrell, Kealey Adamson, Kwame Poku, Amadou Salif Mbengue and Karamoko Dembélé has made his loan move permanent. The challenge for Stephan, rather obviously, will be in getting these players to gel and perform as a team, alongside our existing squad. I'm stuck between being very optimistic about our chances under him, and wanting to give him my full support, against remembering that same feeling of optimism under Cifuentes, Critchley, B**** and Warburton (Ainsworth bought passion but I always had my doubts).

As for our opponents, Preston North End, after a disappointing 20th place finish last year, they'll be hoping for better this season. Their manager, Paul Heckingbottom, has now been in charge at Deepdale for a year, and added to his squad over the summer in the form of Odeluga Offiah (£1.6m), Daniel Iversen (Free), Jordan Thompson (Free), Thierry Small (Free), Andrija Vukcevic (Free), Pol Valentín (Free), Michael Smith (Free), Jack Walton (Free) and Daniel Jebbison (Free).

So, question to discuss below, what should we expect from this year? After a mixed pre-season are we going to loiter in mid-table, flirt with relegation or push for the playoffs? I go between all three depending on my mood and levels of optimism...discuss.

Manager comments and team news;
"I want to keep the focus on the pitch, how we want to play, how we want to attack, how we want to defend. This is the most important thing.

"Be sure that we will give 100%. That is a reality. And yes, we need you (QPR fans). Help us because we need some help for sure, especially with the first games.

"We have young players, so they need to feel all the support behind them. I'm sure that will be the case."

Rangers will be minus the services of Jimmy Dunne (hip), Paul Smyth (groin), Taylor Richards (hamstring) and Jonathan Varane (concussion) this weekend. Longer-term absentees Jake Clarke-Salter and Michi Frey are expected to return to full training in September.

Rnjoy if you'll be at HQ for the season's start, and as always...

...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!

With the pre-season we've had I'm not sure we can read anything into what lies ahead

Let's hope for a positive start

I've got Watford tickets for me and the lad and obviously would be very pleasing to arrive there top of the table

We can but dream

Things are already positive, mate.
We’re currently sitting equal with the leaders as we speak.
