After a disappointing trip to Sheffield United on tuesday night, we are back at headquarters on Saturday afternoon to welcome Nottingham Forest. Forest will be without the suspended defender, Lichaj, and are not certain if Joe Worrall will be fit again after a knee injury has kept him out the last two games. Daryl Murphy, Michael Mancienne and Apostolos Vellios have been out recently with viruses, but should be fit for Saturday. I do hope Mancienne is fit as I remember him being pretty useless for us. That said, I fully expect Mancienne and Ben Watson to have blinders on Saturday, as so many players seem to return to Loftus Road and play far better than they ever played at Loftus Road in blue and white hoops. For the same reason we should be aware of the return of Armand Traoré.
As for us, there was some talk from Holloway this week about Smyth. On the official site, Ollie is quoted as saying, "I’ve never worked with a hungrier youngster – wow, what a breath of fresh air. “He’s what we want up there, running in behind off big Smithy. He’s very intelligent with his movement and the way he reads the game." That would suggest to me that we may start with two up front, the classic big and little front two. Jack Robinson should be back after missing Tuesday night with a toe injury, but otherwise there are no new injuries to report as far as I could find, but others may have heard otherwise. I am hoping we will really go for it on Saturday, and give Smith and Smyth a chance to learn how to best work together, and hopefully put a few away.
