One to forget; They spanked us 5-0 in January 2010. Whatever. Preview After a disappointing trip to Sheffield United on tuesday night, we are back at headquarters on Saturday afternoon to welcome Nottingham Forest. Forest will be without the suspended defender, Lichaj, and are not certain if Joe Worrall will be fit again after a knee injury has kept him out the last two games. Daryl Murphy, Michael Mancienne and Apostolos Vellios have been out recently with viruses, but should be fit for Saturday. I do hope Mancienne is fit as I remember him being pretty useless for us. That said, I fully expect Mancienne and Ben Watson to have blinders on Saturday, as so many players seem to return to Loftus Road and play far better than they ever played at Loftus Road in blue and white hoops. For the same reason we should be aware of the return of Armand Traoré. As for us, there was some talk from Holloway this week about Smyth. On the official site, Ollie is quoted as saying, "I’ve never worked with a hungrier youngster – wow, what a breath of fresh air. “He’s what we want up there, running in behind off big Smithy. He’s very intelligent with his movement and the way he reads the game." That would suggest to me that we may start with two up front, the classic big and little front two. Jack Robinson should be back after missing Tuesday night with a toe injury, but otherwise there are no new injuries to report as far as I could find, but others may have heard otherwise. I am hoping we will really go for it on Saturday, and give Smith and Smyth a chance to learn how to best work together, and hopefully put a few away.
Pretty ironic that he could be loaned to a club that gets promoted! I enjoy your previews Dave - appreciate the time that they take to do
I think she's Rangers through and through. I'm guessing this picture was taken at the Shepherds Bush Lido?
The November away match we were terrorised by Tyler Walker....inexplicablely he has been loaned out to Barnsley and played last week...he was anonymous. They have also loaned out Traore...who also played well that day. Other great players that day were Osborne, Bretton and the Everton loanee Dowell, who was the best player I had seen in the Championship since Adel. I have read none of them like playing for their new manager, Karanka. Let's hope that feeling continues....however.... However they did play well in the second half vs Reading on Tuesday We need an early goal!!!
Strange old side Forest, had an abundance of attacking talent when Warburton was there but couldn't defend except for when they played us, they sack him and appoint Karanka who favours the 9-1-0 formation and everyone is surprised when they don't score but can't defend either. They've only scored 1 goal in last 7 games, lets hope that continues.......
After beating the Championship leaders two games in a row - i just knew we'd end up losing the next game heavily to Forest. Equally when i heard Warburton say that performance was the best he'd seen since he joined Forest - i knew he'd be sacked soon. The number of times teams save their performance of the season for us. When we beat them last season - for a win that kept us up - i was shocked - Forest always seem to be a bogey club, no matter how they are doing. They do love the Zamora goal almost as much as ourselves though
I was at the away game earlier this season and they tonked us. Since then, however they have made a number of changes and I am hoping for a little bit of revenge!
