My least favourite visit to LR of any season and the only game these days where the tactics surrounding fan control are more relevant than those of the teams. Presumably the game has been shifted to a Wednesday (from our normal Tuesday slot) to allow enough police to be in attendance. Quite why the public should have to put up with the inevitable intimidation and disruption around the ground in the 21st century continues to mystify me. Have to turn up so as not to let the thugs win however...
Sadly I will miss the knuckle draggers this season. I however, won't miss watching grown men in their 50's acting like 16 yr olds and swearing at woman and children.
Totally agree QPAAAAAAGH acting like that in modern society is just embarrassing. They will return home bragging how they needed a police escort and how they took a pub which no one drinks in. muppets the lot of them.
let's hope we stuff them and send them home pointless.

Here's one from the history books. Our visit to The Den in 1972 when we were already confirmed as being promoted from the 2nd Division when we managed a 1-0 win, they were a hard side to play against even back in those days.......

My favorite game v Millwall was 1995 FA cup. Not the last minute, as i remember a penalty with "last kick" and Willow sticking it in the loft. The look on their faces was a picture.
Shame about 1/4 final at Old Trafford, blinkin Lee Sharpe and that damn corner flag celebration....

I'm sure what doesn't help is the ground is served by so many stations, Police need to be on their toes to know what's going on. I live very close to Palace's ground and any London derby sees the Police waiting for the visitors at Norwood Junction and marching them under escort to the away enclosure. Anyway, let's hope it passes off without any aggro...

That can't be true surely? I was all set to go, but **** that!

It was on Facebook.
Having looked for myself, it seems that a couple of roads will be closed to home supporters to allow Wall fans to leave quickly.
Not quite as bad, but still takes the piss.

I was at both those games Irwin got the other.
Against Millwall I was in ER stand with a mate and they had quite a few knuckle draggers sitting around us. My mate suggested we move into R block as it had a fence. Reluctantly I agreed and I am glad I did as when Wilson scored it kicked off where we were sitting before. Nice lot. I will never forget that young wall fan about 5-7yrs old who started spitting through the fence with his proud dad next to him. muppets

We have three games coming up in the next 6 days:
Today: Millwall (home)
Saturday: Norwich (home)
Tuesday: Blackpool (away) - Cup match

As a result, it will be interesting to see if any players are rotated for these league matches.

I would like to see us play a winger such as BOS or Wszolek (or even Paul Smyth if he has not been loaned out) and some of the youngsters.

Side for tonight?

Lumley
Rangel, BFG, Lynch, Bidwell
Freeman, Cameron, Mass, Eze
Wells, Hemed

Playing Cameron gives extra height to counteract their aerial play at set pieces and gives extra height from ours'. Batten down the hatches it could be a long evening.

Not sure 19th v 20th is a very enticing game for the neutrals but hopefully we can enjoy it.

C'mon U R'ssssss…….

Clive's preview...….

The two fixtures with Millwall last season, in many ways, highlighted everything that was good and bad about Ian Holloway’s second spell in charge of Queens Park Rangers.

The home game was a riveting watch, one of a clutch of genuinely entertaining games played at Loftus Road in the early part of 2017/18 that saw Reading, Hull, Ipswich, Wolves and Sheff Utd beaten in some style, Brentford and Millwall pegged back from two goals down to draw, and Alex Smithies almost equalising with his head to complete a similar comeback against Fulham. Only Brentford had more shots on goal than QPR in the division last season as Holloway managed to drag enough goals for a comfortable midtable finish out of a strike force of Conor Washington, Jamie Mackie, Idrissa Sylla and Matt Smith. A strike force Steve McClaren took one look at and demanded loan signings. Against Millwall at Loftus Road, Rangers had 30 attempts on goal, one every three minutes, and deserved their point despite the visitors going 2-0 up and playing a big chunk of the game with ten men. The defending wasn’t good enough, but the never give up, never say die spirit that brought an 86th minute leveller for Matt Smith that night also brought important late goals against Hull, Brentford, Wolves and others.

I think Cousins will not play from the team that won on Saturday, more the nature of the game rather than due to him being dropped.
McLaren cannot drop anyone from a winning team really...so my suggestion was going to be Scowen for Cousins (much more defensive, much more a terrier) but actually you may well be right.
I have a feeling that McLaren doesn't like Scowen (his preseason comments about Hall being a DCM and Scowen holding his place until he is fit), so Cameron is actually a much better fit to the team and to the Steeves nature

Maybe McLaren does actually have a plan
Maybe there is a reason we got Cameron

If Cameron is actually any good then below is starting to take shape quite nicely !

Lumley
Rangel, BFG, Lynch, Bidwell
Freeman, Cameron, Mass, Eze
Wells, Hemed

Might not be Millwall's sort of night in this wind!

Cue our team consisting of Wzolech, Smythe, Smith then

Comfortable mid table finish? Not as I remember it.

Very tricky fixture this. Would take a draw now. Was supposed to go to the Bolton game but had a funeral in Scotland unfortunately. Fingers crossed we get 3pts though

What position do you have Eze in that line up?
