Pretty sure the Hugill incident was outside the box. You get loads of these ludicrous by the book officials hoping their assessor is in the stand. Quite why Boro were so intent on timewasting when we were so ripe for conceding a winner only they’ll know.
Seen the replay now and it was indeed outside the box.

So that was the first time I saw the team live and I have to say I was very disappointed. Was this one of the worst performances so far. From lower R block got a great view of the train wreck that was the first goal. Manning and Wallace misunderstading and Lumley pathetic. Couldn't see the second goal we conceded well only know it was a suicidal back pass. U cant gift 2 goals and expect to win. Getting fed up of Warbs post match "when we move the ball quickly we look good" why the **** dont we do it then. There was fa urgency yesterday. And why does Hugill always seem to arrive too early for headers. Hoping we can stay in top 10 till January and get a decent central defender with pace. Verdict still out on Kane he did get a few good balls in second half and has pace but is lacking in confidence.

Think we need a bit of patience and perspective. This team was put together for a pittance while they must have had £20m+ out there and have been ****e all season. Think Assombalonga who is always great was £8m and Fletcher who is always **** was £6m.

We have had some genuinely excellent performances. Yesterday wasn’t one.

Assombalonga cost £15 million, apparently he's been shyte most of this season so we typically gift him a couple. We need the break now just to regroup, the defence needs to sharpen up as the Ruperts next up and not a happy hunting ground especially on a Friday night...

There was a fella out walking his dog the other day when he spotted an interesting looking bottle in the undergrowth, so he picked it up. Suddenly a genie popped out of it and said that he would grant this chap one wish. He thought for a minute and said, 'I want my dog to win Crufts'. The genie took a look at the dog, which was a sorry state - one ear, one eye, no tail and only three legs. 'No problem', said the genie, 'I'll turn him into the best looking dog you've ever seen.' 'No, no' said the fella, 'I love my dog and want him to win Crufts just as he is'. The genie took another look and said 'Sorry, that's just impossible, it's beyond my powers. Would you like a different wish?' 'OK', said the chap, 'I'm a QPR supporter, could you arrange for us to keep a clean sheet next week?' The genie thought for a moment and said, 'Give me another look at that dog.'

Sadly spot on

In hindsight that match was absolutely crying out for my guy Hugsy. Their defenders shat themselves whenever we got within thirty yards of the goal. His miss on around 89’ was criminal from a great Kane cross.

Kane got a couple of good crosses in but we lack any threat on that side when BOS isn’t playing. Still think he should be preferred to Angel for my sanity.

Your guy Hugsy - the criminal who missed the gilt edged chance?. At least nobody can accuse you of only supporting winners.

It was a terrible miss but we looked far more of a threat with him on the pitch IMO. Got to be there to miss the chance.

My other guy Oteh scored again for Bradford yesterday in unrelated news.

It was another disappointing performance yesterday, full of mistakes and poor defending. Manning let his man go for their first goal and Wells played a perfect through ball to Assombalonga for their second. Boro' might consider themselves a little unfortunate not to have taken all three points, really. I haven't seen any replays yet, but I was surprised that their early 'goal' was disallowed for offside, and I thought Wells was definitely offside for his goal. Amos was having his best game for us, so not sure why he was subbed. Not many other good performances, but I thought Ball was our best player on the day.

Three things we were doing during the first two and bit months of the season:
  1. Playing a very effective high press
  2. Passing the ball quickly and crisply through midfield
  3. Dogmatically playing out from the back causing ludicrous self-inflicted pressure.

We are now only doing one of these things. Any guesses?

Okay I am really going to be controversial
And yes I was there yesterday, and yes I cameaway really sad and disappointed

But my empty glass is really just there to be full of lovely lager.

Yesterday we didn't give away goals to defensive mistakes, we gave away unbelievable goals to mind staggering awful mindblowingly destroying f***ups.

Manning left a ball he could easily chased back on for Wallace who was not there. Did Wallace call, and Manning not understand? Was Wallace suppose to be there. I don't know, but it was a miscommunication...but remember they have only played together once before.
The second was even more staggering, what was Nahki thinking, there was no need to do that.

The only defensive mistake was in the 2nd minute, after that Middlesborough never looked like scoring except when we gave them the goal on a plate. Once we had scored the second, I was faintly confident we would win. I thought the defence was more solid, bearing in mind two of our 3 CD are actually out, and hopefully back after the break.
The highlights showed 3 at least sensational saves from their keeper, Lumley's only job was to pick the ball out of the net, when he had no chance to stop the ball (Incidentally Kelly was not dropped, he was injured). The highlights do not show Hugills miss in injury time, when he caught a cross at full speed and headed it wide.
As Warburton said, we do need to be more clinical, we need to be more inventive and not depend only on Eze to be clever.

But I can see we might begin to play again, as long as our heads do not drop. He also has not been able to play his best defence since the Luton match ( and how well did we play that day) Manning (Hall/ Barbet/Leistner) Kane....now I think he might prefer Manning, (Wallace Hall, Barbet), Rangel.

Keep the faith lads

It's also worth remembering where we were this time last season. We are work in progress and Jan transfer window will also hopefully bring in a couple more that can help us.

I can't remember what the position was in respect of the ban. Was it until the January TW or until after the January TW?. The areas to concentrate on are obvious.

Think we had about the same number of points at this stage of the season, last season? I couldn't find any tables showing the situation a year ago. But I seem to remember we were getting better this time a year ago, before it went to s*** in January/ February. Looks like it's happened earlier this season. Hopefully it won't last as long.

Exactly the same as last season and 4 points better than the previous three seasons...
