It's funny how people see the games differently, it's one of the things I love about football. I personally thought Varane did his job very well yesterday and was actually regaining control of midfield when they took him off. He's improved so much since he joined us and I firmly believe he will be at a much bigger club than us this time next year.

To be fair to Madson, I thought the first 20 minutes yesterday he did well, the best I've seen him.

Unfortnately it just made me ask why he can't do that all the time!

It’s a much better feeling today after some poor performances and results. Missed the game due to Swedish guests this week. Seems to have been a game of two opposite half’s with some improvement to be made based on everyone’s comments. On the Smyth debate, yes he needs to improve his end product but his impact in enthusiasm, energy and intensity level feeds out to others, he’s definitely a plus.

Positives: Good to hear that RND had a good game at left back; Vale seems to be improving; sounded like Varane had a good game.
Koki made an impact. We have a main striker!! Our main striker has a side-kick in Burrell. We have a much stronger and impactful bench now.
Negatives: We still persist with Madsen and Walsh. Why? Disappointing start to the season from Dunne.
improvements: Our starting centre backs need to be given a chance to form a partnership.

It’s all a little bit rosier after three points. Really good to hear the team are building a spirit, it has taken us a long way in the past.
Kone and Mbengue sound like characters. Koki is already a fans favourite.

The air is cleaner today. The birds are singing. The homeless scattered across the Brighton seafront are laughing and joking. Children are playing while parents sit with a caramel oat latte discussing Saito’s goal.

Yeah I thought Varane had a pretty good game. I would like to see him be a bit more ambitious with the ball and think he’s capable of it but he was pretty much in midfield on his own at times in the second half and can’t fault his effort. Surprised Vale wasn’t hooked earlier as he was badically dead after half an hour.

The Twitter kids are raving about Esquerdinha but defensively I think he’s miles off it. Gets caught way too far up the pitch and they were just knocking it into his channel with basic long balls causing plenty of problems. Very encouraging start from Rhys Double-Barrel.

Is it possible to watch the full game anywhere?

Or at least, what are the longest highlights available?

If it is possible to watch the full game they should delete the footage. I think the official site does extended highlights a couple of days after.

I had to do some work yesterday so only followed 1st half vía beeb text.....

Only saw 2nd half from shortky after they scored..... there wasn't a little of quality on show from either side, a few games of head volley ball, but overall we did seem to move the ball forward a bit quicker which was pleasing.... also got rid of that stupid goal kick routine, maybe Julian called Marti for a bit of advise on being pragmatic.....
Koki is a breathe of fresh air and looked the quality player on the pitch....
A win is a win is a win, so some improvement and we go into the break with a tad more positivity....

Grateful for their keeper’s efforts for the first two goals. The absolute meltdown on Twitter when Walsh does something like Kaminski did for the first will probably break the Internet.

Yes agree. When I saw the highlights after getting home from the game I realised we had the best keeper on the pitch
