Soaked through but what a brilliant last 35 mins, why couldn't we have started like that ffs. Adomah was sensational 2nd half, like the Uncle of old. But for me the catalyst was Amos ! Everything seemed to speed up once he came on, the ball was going forward instead of backwards and there was a real purpose in our play. Chair was poor on the night but provided the one real piece of top quality with a stunning strike. Dunne should've scored earlier but somehow ballooned over from 4 yards. Lastly Austin is a prick, putting his head in needlessly again, lucky not to receive a red and cost us. What is wrong with him ? I make that the 3rd time he's done that, Warburton needs to tell him it's totally unprofessional and won't play anymore if it happens again. Clean sheet a huge bonus although Barbet tried his hardest to score for them. Huge 3 points, well done lads. Let's get another win Saturday

Obviously it was great to see us win. But I must say, it was odd that Warburton made the spot on choice of replacing Dozell with Amos, which immediately opened the game, only to bring Ball off ten mins later and make Amos go and take up a more defensive position.

As soon as Amos came on, he dragged the ball and the game across to Adomah, unleashing him. That connection was very quickly nullified by Warburton. We needed Ball to let Amos push forward.
Thought the same, seemed to lose some momentum when Austin came on although winner did come after he had!

Difficult game against a difficult side, Albert outstanding & thought Amos did well when he came on, one bit of brilliance won it in the end, nice to keep a clean sheet although they didn’t create much, never thought we would get a goal the way it was going, but hey what do I know, Ursss

We've defeated the curse of David Webb !

I thought he got most things right tonight. All the bookings were deserved and the only poor decision was down to the linesman in not giving a pen when Adomah's first-half cross was blocked by an arm. How there were only 4 minutes added time at the end is a mystery, though.

An important win and well deserved after a dominant second half performance in which Adomah was utterly superb. Their left-back will have nightmares after that.

Very true re the left back. He was made to look very average as he was beaten time and again.

Also, they brought Goliath on to help defend the corner and he was pretty useless too.

Same as last time, stuck his head into their players face after a nothing altercation. Another day he could've seen red , it keeps happening. I like Charlie but he's coming across as a thick ****er who's not thinking about the team !
Austin did get a slap in the head before but he'd be wiser not to react like that.

I too, thought the ref had a good game - but - it was a penalty, the Blackburn player's hand was in an unnatural position. Austin and the Blackburn player could've both been off. The Blackburn player for slapping Austin in the face, and then Austin intimating a headbutt. I think the four minutes added on was due to their goalkeepers ****housery, and the referee had the balls to dismiss it as they got what they deserved. They were trying to time waste at 0-0 and ****ed it. He realised that we were the only team not time wasting and trying to get on with the game and win it and only added on four minutes.

I'm still an advocate for two halves of thirty minutes with the ball in play though. I think the timekeeping should be taken away from the referee.

They'd still be playing if it was an hour with the ball constantly in play ! Will never happen, just too hard to advocate

The ref couldn't have seen the handball, but the lino should have given it.

Absolutely agree regarding a sixty-minute game clock.

If you check the stats that's about the average for the ball being in play.

I think it's around fourty six minutes. I stand to be corrected. But thirty minutes of the ball in play each half feels about right. It certainly stops all of the nonsense. The Blackburn goalie tonight was a joke.

I edited my post to include some stats, Ninesy. It's around 55 minutes of actual play on average.
