Just watched the whole game again. We won 3-2:smile:
The most striking thing is that our support is second to none. Fantastic!

The fans continue to help pull the team out of the ****e. Again we were fantastic.
    As for the game:
    Fer was terrible and lazy.
Barton gave the ball away even more than usual, but made some big tackles and blocks.
Yun was torn a new one before Clint showed him how to do it.

Hoilett gave us so much more attacking threat.
    Nico looked slower than ever.
    We missed isla.
We'll always be playing Russian roulette at home as we're always outnumbered in midfield playing 4-4-2
    We'll be ****ed without Charlie.
    Fantastic result!

Barton did indeed give the ball away more than we might like, but he also made some superb passes and great blocks. Oh, and we scored two goals from his **** corners.

Great win, Austin could have had 6. Good job we got him because nobody else looks like scoring. Hoilett was bad, he gave the ball away about every time he got it. Green did very well again.

I ****ing give up. Some of you were watching a different game to me.
A Hoilett run and excellent pass set up Austin for a great chance before he got his third.
A Hoilett run and shot forced the corner from which Charlie scored the winner.
Hoilett kept running the ball away in the closing minutes to run the clock down. He doesn't have the physique to hold it in the corner but he tried. He would have been bollocked to hell if he'd crossed the ball as some have said he should have.
I wonder sometimes I really do!

In reply to that Col, I wonder if Harry and the team know more about our squad than those that post on here then?

i see Damage, DT and AN Other are licking their wound.
Hary Out brigade being made to look silly ATM
And not a marrocan in sight.

Charlie proving all the doubters (incl me) wrong

    nd we aint bottom.

Its fun on a forum, but lets leave the actual decisions to those like Redknapp who have made millions out of actually knowing what they are talking about eh?
The alternative s tht hose that comment step up and do it themselves

    Offers ?

Interesting that Sunderland, who play Newcastle Sunday are currently a point behind us but have only lost 4 games all season, compared to our 10. The big difference is that their points come from 2 wins & 10 draws, whilst ours are 5 wins and 2 draws. Those wins, like today, are vital to staying up - I remember Ollie saying the same thing in Blackpool's PL relegation season, that they always tried to go all out for the win in games.

So even if we end up losing at Arsenal, thus joining Bolton in the record book for PL consecutive away losses, if we can rebound and beat Palace & Swansea at home, we'll have 23 points and be well on our way to staying up, even with that dismal away record.

JUst a quick word about the penalty. It was not at all 'soft'. It was actually a very good call by the ref. I don't think it was given for Morrison's arms around Fer but for the tug that took Fer away from a clear goal scoring opportunity as the ball fizzed by his foot in front of an open goal.

Not the best of ref's but he got that 100% right.

Not this argument again? It's nonsense.

You came up with this before. Obviously none of us are making the decisions, but this is a forum where we discuss our opinions on whether Harry gets it right or not.
Harry is very old fashioned and plays hoof ball up to OBZ in a 4-4-2 at home. This leads to many visiting teams out-playing us in midfield, just as WBA did yesterday with their 58% possession. Most teams play with 3 central midfield players against our two. Add to that that Fer is playing out of position on the left and our midfield gets badly over-run a lot of the time.
The fans at LR have really helped by creating it's famous atmosphere and this has been a big factor in our home results imo.

Harry did get his subs right yesterday and ensured that we had 3 in central midfield for the final 15 minutes or so. this immediately stopped WBA being so dominant in there. We're always playing Russian roulette with our home formation, but so far, we've been missing the bullet.

Agreed. Although the trip on Barton was 100% a nailed on penalty imo.

He tries and he runs and scares defenders, but 19 times out of 20 he loses the ball as he did repeatedly when playing out time. He should give it to someone that can! Ah, noone I suppose!

19 time out of 20!!!!???? Are you sure?
I just don't get the dislike of Junior I really don't. You actually said earlier in this thread that Hoilett was "bad" yesterday!! Quite, quite unbelievable!!
Wingers often lose the ball. That's the way they play.

Hoilett or Fer in a wide position is a complete no-brainer for me.

If I had the energy and technical skills I'd put together a youtube vid of the world's mostly highly rated wingers to show just how often they run up blind alleys, lose the ball, fail to pass/cross/shoot when they should. Most hit a purple patch at some time in their career when they can do no wrong, but inconsistency is a part of the territory - Robben, Ribery....even Dave Thomas are/were not great all of the time. Hoilett isn't in that class, but he only needs to get it right a couple of times a game to be worth his place. My main fear is that his purple patch was when he was at Blackburn.....

I completely agree. I'd just prefer to watch a Hoilett compared to a Mackie etc.

At Blackburn he was played every single game. most players benefit from that. Although I do get the argument that he's a great impact sub (although one or two on here didn't even notice that yesterday!).
