That makes me feel a bit better. Long way to go though. Fantastic work from Clyne and Puncheon, as the season goes on their tandem is getting better and better. And a bit of end product from Puncheon which the lack of is what I have criticised him for, so happy to have him shut me up on that one! 2-0 lead at half-time... This feels so alien...
Would be stunned if he wasn't. QPR doesn't merely look deprived of confidence, they've been bereft of effort...hard to score when there's no one forward, and yet despite committing no one they haven't exactly been strong in midfield or at the back.
It's nice to see them hopelessly pumping it forward to Cisse and giving him no support. Makes me think we might just be in for a clean sheet here.
Wonder what we will see from QPR in the 2nd half, if they get the next goal and the crowd turn then the momentum might carry them. But we could catch them on the counter-attack as they push on. Certainly rather be in our dressing room though, more of the same please!
Few people counting their chickens a bit early haha, 45 minutes left in this one boys, and it only takes us about 2 of those to concede 3 goals. Fear this could still get very nervy, but hopefully we'll come out with similar dominance in the second half and take this away from them! Hopefully.
I'd still be surprised if they went down...there's simply too much talent there. Granted, that talent is showing absolutely nothing, but surely there's a manager out there who can get them to play like a unit?
We have looked extremely good at times some of the link up play has been amazing, defensively the back 4 have been very good however the midfield doesn't close down or fill in space as well as it should straight after we scored there were massive gaps between our defense and midfield. That could easily be punished by hoillet or taarabt who have looked quite good. Loving having a good solid fullback playing down our left. Gazza has looked shaky not surprising given he is so young and really hasn't had much to do other than pick the ball out of the net apart from a quality save against everton, not knocking him but would like to see him called into action a bit to give him some confidence to come for crosses.
Is there really that much talent though? Granero is technically brilliant but only shows up every so often, and the same can be said for Taarabt with the added problem of him being a selfish prick. Cisse is hardly a goal machine and I can't think of anyone else in the squad who is. Their flanks are very weak, and their "big names" are has-beens.
Back four have been comfortable. Hopefully we will now see the most boring second half in history. Also I'm already on 25 fantasy football points.
Present and correct sir. My apologies to the loyal, inspiring, hero that Mr Jason P has become. P.S. we've scored too early again.
