QPR take on Reading at Loftus Road on Saturday as the domestic season returns this weekend following the international break.

The R’s head into this one on a high after our dramatic late victory against Fulham two weeks ago and will hope that victory can kick-start what has so far been a mixed campaign.

Our visitors Reading are also struggling to find consistency in their performances. The Royals won their opening match of the season but they then went four without a victory before winning three on the bounce in September, which included beating the league leaders Huddersfield. However, Brentford put four past them in their last away outing and before the international break they struggled to a 1-1 draw against Derby. I'm just going to stick this sentence here to see if anyone actually reads this blurb.

After a couple of underwhelming league performances - where they’ve finished 19th and 17th respectively - Reading decided to go slightly left-field in the summer appointing their first non-British or Irish manager in Jaap Stam.

The Dutchman, who’s best known for his time as a player with Manchester United, is in his first managerial role but was a coach at Dutch giants Ajax last season.

During the transfer window they brought in 12 players including England Under-21 international John Swift from Chelsea and forward Callum Harriott from Charlton.

Stam has very much brought a continental style of play to the Berkshire club who operate with a possession based 4-3-3 formation, which involves playing from the back and lots of short passes in midfield.

QPR: Hasselbaink will make late calls on his players who have returned from international duty this week, while James Perch is fit after being out for a month with a knee injury.

Reading: Reading boss Jaap Stam has Tyler Blackett available for the trip to Loftus Road. Defender Blackett has served his three-match ban after he was sent off against Brighton in the Capital One Cup in September. Stam has no fresh injury or suspension worries as the Royals resume after the international break.

I did see part of a Reading match about a month back and they had big clunky defenders trying to play like Barca so, if we press and run our sorry posteriors off, we will get something out of this game.

That would be the internationally accessible, culture fair version (except the title).

A picture quiz version would be fun. Reading is easy but what would you do for Rs... :/

I'd have to give that one some thought.
 
Let's just hope it is not a repeat of the dire match that ended both teams' tenure in the premiership. Jeez that was an awful match.
 
It's time we got some serious output from Washington. He's had his couple International stints, now it's time he stepped it up for us. And that goes for the Polish boys as well.
Hopefully we can get it together, hit them hard and fast and then see it out properly

A picture can be worth a thousand words. Plus they won't need to be football related It could be a great thread. Nice idea!
 
Will Mackie play a half for each team?
I'm thinking he will again be influential in the result.
 
Nines, I like your team but I doubt if it will be the starting eleven.

I think Luongo will be rested after his jet lag and hopefully will be played for the mid week match.

I also would not be surprised to see Henry replace him, although I would play Borysiuk-Cousins in the defensive midfield role.

What ever the set up, noise or no noise in the stadium, let's hope for a win! COYR's!!!!!

Yes they now think the are Barca (but without the quality, or players, or fans, or history....). Brentford beat them with pressure. They have a dodgy defense pretty good midfield but cannot score. Goals come from midfield (swift). They also seem to score late goals. Hassle them and let them worry about Polter and Cilla and I think we will be okay.
Expect the usual 'Aaaarrrgh' after every kick and a motley crew of fans that won't look out place in the audience of a Jeremy Kyle show.
All set up for a 0-0 1-1 thriller. <doh>
