Don't see how you can make judgements on Nasser on 10 minutes. He has done well when he's played for us longer before- in particular he can beat a man and then deliver a decent cross, which we have seen far too little of for some time from our wide players.
Another one that doesn't agree with you Oslo. Maybe there is a footballer there. To date, I just haven't seen it.

My thoughts for what they are worth, plus a genuine question.

I've not seen any replays, so could someone confirm that the Mackie goal crossed the line?

IMO 'Boro were the best side to have played at The Bush this season & deserved to win. However, like Beth, I feel cheated (provided my question has a yes answer). How any official, let alone a professional one, could make such an error is beyond comprehension. I can only assume he was certain that the ball was going out & took his eyes off the ball. Thus making an assumption.

In defence we were woeful. not helped by the lack of cover from our two wide players. Phillips shirked every challenge & deserved the sending off he received from the crowd (I didn't join in but came close to doing so). I really wouldn't mind if he never plays for us again!

'Boro pressed us fromn the start & closed us high up the pitch. We didn't cope with this, but ater their goal they withdrew five yards & allowed Faurlin a little space to play in. This was why we came back into the game.

After half time they resumed their pressing game & took full control of the match. Two more poor goals to concede, but it's funny that when your side lets in goals from dead balls it is down to the defending, while if your side score them it is due to the delivery & movement!

We then improved after the subs were made. Junior was a big improvemennt & Connor Washington showed once more that he can play. In particular I like his link up play with Polter. Please start him in the next few matches!

The most pleasing aspect of the game for me, is that we never stopped trying & pushed as hard as we could to gain an unlikely point. It also helps when you have the best 'keeper in the division though!

So overall, the game left me a little bitter but reasonably happy witgh our further development.

BTW, unlike some of you, I thought the ref had a good game but was badlylet down by his colleagues.

Mackie's goal was well over the line Terry.

Cheers Stan,

I assumed that it was, but you can't tell from the other end of the pitch! As it was "contensious" they couldn't replay it on the screen either!

Mmm........

Slightly patronising mate.
Surely a board like this is for debating and commenting on all things QPR?
Are we supposed to blindly support players on here, even if we don't rate them? I support ALL of them when watching the team but I reserve the right to vent my feelings on here without being accused of being immature.
I don't rate Nasser and I'm not sure about him, same with Gladwin. I hope they both prove me wrong. I think Hall is over rated, but has potential and Phillips is just awful nearly all of the time. However, they all get my support whilst playing.
You say we should support them all and then rip Faurlin and Henry new ones.
I thought Henry was one of our best players last night and imo you need a mixture of older players to support the younger ones.

Having read back through the post again, I can clearly see how you would think that. Sincere apologies as it was not in any way meant to be patronising or offensive to anybody.
Of course this board is here for everybody to give their opinions as is everybody's right. I rarely post here anymore as I find the reactions after games bordering ridiculous (and that's not meant to cause offence either).
My point which was badly made was that the majority on here were calling for the older wasters of recent years to be moved on and younger hungry players brought in and given a chance. That's what's happening. The problem with shopping in the bargain basement (as you all well know) is that its hit and miss.
All I wanted in recent years was to see our team playing with effort. I can see positive signs although IMO we lack quality in a few areas particularly in central midfield. But that's just my opinion. I've been wrong before and will be many times again.
Apologies again to all as no offence was meant.

You can't see the screen, or even the electronic scoreboard unless you are sitting down, from where you are sitting next season mate.

I can't remember exactly when you said it. I think it was the game where he hit a cross come shot which was put in at the far post?
You were there I think and were absolutely raving around the guy.
You may have been pissed?

That would of been the Ipswich game when he came on and made his debut. He was brilliant. No not pissed, excited.

I know its a different game now re tackling but COME ON.....we are allowed to get tight....we gave their midfield and forwards 3 yards every time they had the ball. Yet, poor old Polter was pushed, pulled, tugged all night. I have seen this from us in a lot of games and something obviously JFH allows or hasnt yet fathomed out???!!!! Middlesbrough have had trouble scoring lately but right from the start we gave a decent team too much room..........

No apology needed.
I probably over reacted anyway.
I think we are mainly in agreement and I am becoming more impressed with JFH the more I listen to him.

Fair enough.
I think it may be a tad early to be comparing him with one of our greatest ever players, but let's hope he turns out even half as good eh?

Watch the highlights on Skysports.com, they show the ball clearly over the line (Mackie) and on the line (Hoilett/Polter).

I thought Rhodes' goal was one of the luckiest at LR this year, with a dodgy bounce beating Hall, then when he tried to take it round Smithies he shinned it. Had he hit it properly Smithies would have saved easily, or Hall would have been back. As it is, his miskick took it into the only place neither could get to.

Defending for both of their second half goals was very poor. Definitely culpable for them both.

Mackie got a reward that his effort deserved. I'm neither a lover or a hater, but you can't doubt his effort, and there's clearly some skill there to be able to score that goal.

Chery? Well, we all know he's capable of strikes like that, and it's great that he's doing it for us rather than anyone else.

As the highlights clearly showed, Hoilett stopped the ball going out (with a massive effort leaving him lying in the bottom of the camera pit) and the linesman made a howler there. Terrible decision not to give the goal.

Smithies was excellent, Onuoha and Phillips very poor. Henry showed why he needs to be in the side, anchoring that midfield well - a job that was extremely important given the shoddy defending behind him.

All in all, a 'good' loss, if such a thing exists, because it showed who's up for it and who clearly isn't.

What you've said there is not necessarily wrong Chaz, but I don't see how you could make those judgements from watching the highlights.

Edit: I've just realised you meant watch the highlights to see the goals. Silly me.

Maybe as the result wasn't so important I feel the same - it was a good game. Boro looked very good, they certainly have good enough players to see them promoted, but we caused them a few problems as well, would have been 3-3 with goal line technology in use which it should be. But Smithies needed to be our MOM to restrict them to 3. Perch, Henry, Mackie, Polter and Chery all had good games too. Worst I remember seeing from Angella and Phillips.
Get rid of Phillips asap

Thought overall it was a decent game, 2 fairly well matched sides in the first half, but Boro upped the game for the first 20 minutes 2nd half and 2 lousy pieces of defending cost us, however whenever they went forward during the 2nd half they looked capable of scoring.....Adomah was given the freedom of W12 and could run at Perch who had no back up from Phillips, whereas whenever Phillips had the ball Boro always doubled up on him......

Lost count of the times the Boro full backs found acres of space around our penalty box......they are a decent side but we hung in there and were denied a point by the linesman.......

Not sure what Mackie brings to the side apart from his first goal of the season.......BFG was given no protection by ref, the Boro center backs were given carte blanche to foul him all night, no wonder he left his foot in on Gibson at the end......

Smithies is fast becoming the best keeper we've seen at HQ for many years, he should have been in the side from the start of the season......

For my drunken worth. I don't remember too much of the game but i think Phillips was lazy and Ned switched off again for their third.
Not the best of games (other than goals). I thought that Adohma bloke was class. Lineman's cocked up re Hoillet but gave Mackie goal so evens out.
Credit to Polter who ran his socks off and is looking better (that will please Watford).
Mackie good goal but with Ned needs to go at end of season.
Will also say JFH is turning us back into a team (even after everything i have said about him).

Was it the same linesman?

Linesman who gave Mackies goal made correct call as ball was as far over the line as Lampards England goal against Germany that caused FIFA to bring in goal line technology......about time that happened in the Championship as well.....

Linesman who said ball was out before Hoilett crossed made wrong call......so can't quite see how they even out?
