That reminds me of a song by a deceased Irish crooner......Joe Dolan. He was from the same town as me Granny, Mullingar, County Westmeath. He sings a song called "good looking woman". One line states, "you make me sire such a good looking woman".
Im just back, stayed to have a lovely drink with Roller and QPRski from Poland, lovely guy...great supporter...who seemed to enjoy the match as entertainment...
.But me...I am sort of mixed up livid.
I am livid as we were cheated out of a goal that would have given us a draw... I saw it myself in real time... it was not out ...perfectly good goal....we were plainly cheated. But did we deserve a draw...to be honest NO!
The back line was absolutely awful...I am sorry it started with Ned, who was torn ragged, and the ripples spread down the line like dominos falling. Hall and Angela were caught in possession endlessly, and Smithies (who was brilliant, dug them out on 3 occassions). ...However the problems all started with Ned, he knew he was beat from the 20 minute, and his body language said " anywhere but here please". He was never in the RB position...he was either ambling forward or too close to the centre backs, crowding them, leaving Boro acres of space out there
Adomeh (the QPR supporter) was outstanding.
In front of Ned, Mackie played like a whirling dervish who can't run. lots of movement but no actual movement...but hey what a cracking goal.
Phillips had the same body language as Ned, of "please anywhere but here"... at the moment he is not in the same class as Junior....and he doesn't care as much as Whirling Dervish Mackie...a complete waste of space tonight.
However I felt the rest of the midfield/forwards did OK. Chery was busy (and another cracking goal) he fed off of the BFG well
The BFG was troublesome all night
Ale did not have his best match, but that was because Ned was having such a bad match, Ale was constantly being attacked down his right flank.
.Henry was solid, but very deep by the end, again mopping up the defence
Hoillet was good when on, as was Washington,
Nasser El-K, stilll a little lightweight
My major criticism was Ned, he unbalanced the team completely, Boro had a channel to grind at and they did...they worked his channel all night constantly threatening the CB,from the right and we cracked about 4-5 times. Smithies is an absolute gem...We will be lucky to keep him
So we need a RB urgently, and Ned is no longer a viable option as a CB either...he must be 4th in the pecking order now, behind a balding 39 year old with no knees.. He is also no captain, he did not galvanise the troops to fight back...that was left to Hall and Ale

I think a little perspective is required.
We're in a dead season. We've cleared out most of the dead wood but we still have a few remaining. Tonight we were playing a top 2 team. They are top 2 for a reason, we are not. This board gets ridiculous at times and people think and speak (post) with emotion rather than rationale.
Tonight I saw a team lacking in a bit of quality but trying damn hard. We haven't seen that in years. It's refreshing. They're are several positives to take from our last few games and some glaring frailties. I think it is coming together slowly but we obviously need to move on some players. Some like Hoilett, Philips, Ned etc will polarise opinion. That's normal. We also have some very young players who cost peanuts. Please put aside unrealistic ambition and show some maturity. The likes of Washimgton, Gladwin, Lunog, Hall and El Khayati need time to develop. They need our support, not ridicule. We called for young players now let's support and encourage them. They won't become world beaters overnight. They certainty won't if we don't support and encourage them.
Hall will be a decent player but is in a steep learning curve. He badly needs a Hill or Dunne type player beside him. Angella and Ned have no obvious leadership ability and Hall needs experience beside him IMO to develop properly.
If you look at the table you'll see we have more draws than any other team in the division. That's where we have a problem. Before tonight our defence has been more than adequate but we simply haven't scored enough goals to win matches. IMO, we are inadequate in central midfield. Faurlin is a gent but consistently overrated. His games ratio is poor since signing due to several managers not rating him. Tonight again, he was way off the required pace. He's a dinosaur. A DCM is always required and Henry (God love him) tries but is substandard. We need a new mobile, competitive and energetic CM partnership that can push us forward.

Thoughts
Don't follow this about Ned. He was at fault for the 3rd goal but Boro's best moves from open play were coming from their right, not down the side which Ned and Mackie defended quite well but where Perch and Phillips were. Perch did OK and got forward well but Phillips had a mare. Commentators were saying the same.
My thoughts are that you are probably right on everything but that we have a lot less than no money so finding replacements for all those that need to be replaced will be very tough, and if we do get them they are likely to be more of the same - younger players needing time to develop (and some of them will never develop enough) or older players who were never good enough but we can afford them. At the same time the expectation from the fan base will be such that they are offered no respite from criticism, anger and frustration. I think a long stay in the Championship is inevitable and that will require really good management given the resources available, and be mainly based on maintaining player morale, professionalism and competitiveness.
Good to see the old 'lightweight' cliche getting an airing for Nasser though (not you Nuts).

Hard to disagree with anything there especially about supporting the younger players.
One can find younger players that are the finished article but they are called things like 'Neymar' and likely cost £150m.
Passions do run high after a high octane game like that and it is hard to stomach the disallowed goal.
If they don't get promoted next year, I wonder what the chances are of us nicking Albert Adomah off them (though I see he's already 28).
If you want some lighter relief, have a look at what happens to Junior after the disallowed cross. He completely disappears in the camerman's pit like a carton character! Hope he did not hurt himself but rather funny.

We had become a lot more solid in defence before last night's shambles. 3 out of the 4 last night had an off night. Smithies is a revelation, looks like a top class keeper.
Hopefully we will be able to cash in on Phillips and he won't be here next season. His lack of workrate is frustrating beyond belief. I agree with most, last night's wonder goal apart, that Mackie's signing has proven to be a mistake.

Are we supposed to blindly support players on here, even if we don't rate them? I support ALL of them when watching the team but I reserve the right to vent my feelings on here without being accused of being immature.
I don't rate Nasser and I'm not sure about him, same with Gladwin. I hope they both prove me wrong. I think Hall is over rated, but has potential and Phillips is just awful nearly all of the time. However, they all get my support whilst playing.
You say we should support them all and then rip Faurlin and Henry new ones.
I thought Henry was one of our best players last night and imo you need a mixture of older players to support the younger ones.
Don't see how you can make judgements on Nasser on 10 minutes. He has done well when he's played for us longer before- in particular he can beat a man and then deliver a decent cross, which we have seen far too little of for some time from our wide players.
If we can get Robinson or someone to be an attacking left back and also get in an attacking right back, we would be able to start Washington as one of the three behind Polter, as we wouldn't need naturally wide players with attacking full backs down the sides.
Hoilett, Chery and Washington behind Polter would be very good with these attacking full backs.
Or we could play 4-3-3, but again we'd need those full backs imo.

It's my early impression of him that he ain't all that. Same with Gladwin.

If only we had an attacking left-back at the club. Perhaps one with international experience. I hear Charlton have one.
Me and boy were chuckling about that when it happened and thought coverage would have showed it a bit more - at least we know there will be a QPR clip on Soccer AM or Question of Sport what happened next at some point
Small things but no matter what I'm happy whenever I see QPR on programmes even if it is to laugh at them!
