Hudson has just provided a display like the second half against Middlesbrough, Allsop instructed to play every ball long and the players told to stand yards off instead of closing down. From the start of the season we played out from the back with fast one touch passing and did well, we look a shambles playing the long ball and allowing QPR the freedom and time to play in our half. Harris, O`Dowda and Robinson scored 3 against Middlesbrough and Wigan with Rawls and Wintle our best midfielders then Kipre and NG at the back is a solid starting and of course Allsop making 8 decent players so why did they all not start every game. Knounkou and Simpson cannot defend and Nelson is a liabiltiy, what Ojo does is run until he loses the ball and never closes anyone down. Surely Denham in defence and Tang in midfield is better. Anyway after last nights performance Hudson was to blame after his good start he has drawn one and lost two and for the first time we lost by three clear goals. managers get sacked if we are in the bottom half especially near relegation so goodbye Hudson.

Difference was we were 3 up with 11 men at Boro.

Sang not Tang certainly should get a go instead of Sawyers the passenger.

Agree Hudson has to be replaced soonest.

Goodbye Hudson, I thought you were going to prove me wrong about you , but all you've done is what Morison done, flattered to deceive

At least he doesn't bully the younger players and tell VT to F off.

Not much else to recommend him though.

A manager who plays the best team and lets them play the only way that suits them, we have seen one touch fast counter attacking football from passing out from the back and yet somehow Hudson managed to ignore that against QPR. Scott Parker used the kind of system we need at Bournemouth and Fulham. Gerrad was sacked after losing 3-0 and with Villa near the bottom, that is exactly where we are now with Hudson.

Some rather harsh criticism regards the QPR game on here. A little unfair really being as we played about 70 minutes with a man short, against one of the in-form and better passing teams in the division.

On the subject of the man less... Our appeal against the joke of a red card has been successful. Not that it helps us with the impact it had on our ability to try get anything from the game it happened in!!

Another example of why VAR should be used outside of the PL?

It's not about being a man down, it's not even about losing 3-0, it's about how we played........... dismal.
If we played to ability and lost fair enough, that was a bit of a shambles.

Agree. The faults were on the pitch and on the touchline irrespective of the sending off.

We simply weren't good enough on the night.

Don’t you get that those teams have players with the ability to play “ One touch fast counter attacking football.”

City have inter alia eg Ralls and Sawyers .

    Enough said.

At least we have the makings of 3 of a back 4 on Sunday. Hope either Ng or Alfa is fit enough.

Simpson's red card being overturned shows just how incompetent the ref was.

A clear need for VAR beyond the Prem. It's not like the governing bodies can't afford it. The bigger question is do they have enough people capable of managing it?

I have to disagree here, the opening games with Morison in charge were a joy to watch, and we played some quick passing one touch in those games, fans were praising the football. This is the same team!!

    Not quite.

We had 2 very competent full backs who defended well and got forward.

Now we have Ng who is okay but not as dynamic as Alfa and Nkounkou - least said the better. Even worse last Saturday we had Campbell at right back who just isn't up to it.

That puts us on the back foot straightaway.

We are lightweight in midfield with no creativity to speak of. Other teams have worked us out and press us in the middle of the park. Adams and Colwill will make a difference when fit.

The only area of improvement is Robinson up front but he needs a solid partner to play with.

It's not just having 11 players on the park - wrongfully 10 on Wednesday - it is the quality of the players selected. We have gone backwards on that front.

I mentioned Ralls and Sawyers as they’re just so pedestrian - every team we play against seem to have buzzy little midfielders running around and creating openings - unlike ours

Agreed. We simply can't afford the 2 of them playing at the same time. Ralls is more effective physically whereas Sawyers is living up to the negativity which surfaced when he signed - languid, lazy, doesn't get stuck in.

More like someone to bring on when you're 3 up and the opposition are tired and demoralised. That could be a long wait....
