From here it appears England would have to beat France, Spain and then Brazil in the space of around 10 days. That's incredibly unlikely.

I like the French and the Spanish but hate Brazil.

I agree it looks like an impossible route, but stranger things have happened. What caught my ear during the commentary on the England match this morning was the following stat, I haven't checked it though, that England have currently scored one more goal than when they won the tournament in 1966.
