3rd/4th place play off is a glorified friendly. I didn't even bother to watch England play it 4 years ago.

Watched the last half hour of this one though and it's been decent.

I watched morroco and if only they had a decent striker when the games meant something.

They certainly didn’t play it like a friendly

Neither did I. Did we win? Don’t know why I’m asking. I don’t care. The most pointless game in football. No one remembers, no one cares, the players just want to go home because they’re gutted they lost a World Cup semi.

Unless it’s Morocco or Croatia apparently <laugh><laugh>

Heard an interesting take on the World Cup from a genuine footie fan. Rates international footie well ahead of pl in terms of enjoyment. None of the nonsensical transfer bullshit. Little to do with cash but players actually wanting to play for their countries. Interesting viewpoint I’d say

About to dock in Buenos Aires this morning. Beginning to wonder if we'll be able to get a taxi to our hotel, given the stories we've been hearing about everyone downling tools for the day & possibly beyond. Hear it's going to be a riot - and possibly literally if they lose. Eek! My main concern is that our favourite steak joint will be closed. Only got one night here, so only one chance to get our visit in. Then again, if they win .....

    KO 12 noon in Argentina.

If they win it will be an all day/night party so hopefully they lose and WJ can then have his favourite steak.

Would much rather the French win anyway.

My view is always the same Eire.

Concentrate on qualification first and never get ahead of ourselves.

Can't believe the French are doing an England playing with three in midfield. Imagine copying the team you beat. <laugh><laugh><laugh>
