Well if we get a loan in and we get 12m I will be happy. Maybe Moyes knows what he is doing, lets wait until the end of the window. I still think were doomed no matter what we do.

If Moyes can have that cash and can nab a decent midfielder and a forward it is a gamble worth taking IMO. £14M is top, top end. You don't see FB's going for that and we won't miss his defending. The big worry is we don't get the cash to spend.

Lets just wait and see eh. Isn't that what you said to me when I aired my concerns? On exactly the same subject too. Maybe follow your own advice instead of dishing it out to others, then you won't contradict yourself. <ok>

We must replace him with a fully paid for LB. Otherwise if we stay up, again Short is back to enabling mistakes which completely ****ed us up for the first 6 years of his ownership.

£6m to Short for the interest on the money he`s loaned the club, the rest to pay for Alvarez. Of course we may need to sell someone else to make up the shortfall.

Well pissed off me atm with this lot.

Buy a proper left back Bri, that's a bit left field thinking for our club.

Than it's just repeating the same mistakes and proves Short is incapable of learning from past mistakes. Making this squad thinner will only bite us in the arse if we stay up. This is shorts problem, his model always leads us into the next summer window weaker and thinner than the one before. Forget standing still, if only, Short is devolving us season on season.

£14m is straight up MUGGING Palace.

Probably half of that up front, some if they stay up, some after 100 apps etc etc, but still, the kid is a calamitous defender, unless Allardyce intends to play him as a LW, in which case, it could be a good buy.
thats where he should have played IMO for us.

Anyone know if Chelsea get anything out of a sale? I read in the press there may be a sell-on fee as we only paid £1.5M for him...??

I hear what people are saying regarding a proper left back but I don't think we have that luxury arm and for now we just have to make do with who we can get. We're nowhere near safety and the bulk of that money surely needs to be reinvested in a midfielder and a forward if we can as we need wins. Surely Lescott can slot in at LB. can't be any worse than PVA at defending.

Mate, we won't be reinvesting the money.
If there was a "dislike the comment but agree with it" button is press it!!

I've stuck up for short in the past but I can't any more. I was obviously wrong (dont tell the wife I admitted that) in the past as it seems obvious he's basically stripping the assets. Worst chairman in our lifetimes mate. My dad says he's the worst in his lifetime and he's 63!!

I used to think that Bob Murray was tight with money....if you pro-rata his wealth against that of Short...makes Murray look like spendthrift.
