I went to a local house a few years ago that claimed to have the largest collection of cacti in Europe. I was stunned at the variety.
Maybe it pricked itself and it turned purple.

I accept that there are purple cacti, and that Dutch was invited in to see a huge variety of them (worst chat up line ever by the way)
However if someone asked you what colour a cactus was you'd say green...not purple.
