I will assume that I should ask the next one. An easy one but I want both correct answers.

I have a log of wood eight feet long. I cut it exactly in half. I then cut those two pieces exactly in half. I then cut those pieces exactly in half. How long is each piece of wood?

It depends if you were cutting from above - or horizontally along the length of the log. If the first then one foot minus half the width of the saw, if the second then exactly eight feet.

O.K. Queen Victoria refused the invitation to open the new Manchester Town hall - a function which was instead done by the Lord Mayor of the town. About 40 years later a suggestion by Winston Churchill (then first lord of the admiralty) was vetoed by King George V. In 2004 a group of M.P.s, including Tony Banks, proposed a motion in Parliament which was rejected. At first glance 3 entirely separate incidents, but they have a strong connection. What is it ?

Correct, Cologne. I got the question from Paddington Bear!

It seems there is another question going at the moment.

Riots in Manchester?

Hmm - QV refused to attend the opening of the Manchester Town Hall reputedly because of the shady background of the then Mayor who had 'served time at her pleasure', Tony Banks' EDM was to do with his pro-animal views - and the Churchill veto by King George was something to do with him sending a battleship to Belfast.

But what connects the three I have no idea. Something to do with animals?

Not there yet....I will give out the first clues soon.
