In 2004 a group of M.P.s, including Tony Banks, proposed a motion in Parliament which was rejected. At first glance 3 entirely separate incidents, but they have a strong connection. What is it ?

Hmm - QV refused to attend the opening of the Manchester Town Hall reputedly because of the shady background of the then Mayor who had 'served time at her pleasure', Tony Banks' EDM was to do with his pro-animal views - and the Churchill veto by King George was something to do with him sending a battleship to Belfast.

That's not the connection I was looking for. BB was closest in that Churchill's part of this has something to do with a battleship. If you know what the parliamentary motion was then you are nearly there. Remember, Royals have long memories !
