Which famous player was born precisely half-way between two consecutive Watford 1-1 away draws?
Watford's two goals in those games were scored by the same player - a recent signing scoring his third and fourth goals in five matches.
Signed from Ipswich, he later transferred to Rotherham. Sadly now deceased, he died in 1997 at the young age of 48 in USA.

No - it was not long after the start of the season.
The player I'm after never played for Watford - he was born there, next to the stadium.

As usual, you have found a better answer than the one I was expecting ! Bah ! I'll give it to you. My answer was 'The Cambridge rules' originally believed to be1848, but then an earlier version dated 1838 was , I thought, the earliest version.
