Yes...................6 imported into the Barent Sea by Russian scientists diuing the 60s.... now there are millions of them....eating up all they come across...

well done!
Thanks, yorkie. Given how fishermen have to stick to quotas and throw back some of their catch, with invasive species is it too simplistic to say that there should be no quota at all. Or is that already the case? Not my strong point, but interested.

His namesake son was famous for being Russian, and with a Beatle-mania style following, had the largest share of fan-mail at MGM (even exceeding Elvis!), but he (Dad) was well-known in his own right, even helping the Beatles out! Who was he (Dad, not son)?

"Norwegian authorities have established a two-part strategy for maintaining a sustainable red king crab population: First, a quota-regulated, long-term fishery in East Finnmark; and second by limiting the crab’s dispersal outside of this designated area. In order to protect other valuable species like the cod, all king crab fishing in areas west of the North Cape is therefore unrestricted. Fishing for the red king crab takes place all year with traps in the fjords and coastal areas along the east of Finnmark "

This aims to stop it spreading west and south....
