Not a bat - but at one time it did have something in common with bats. Something it apparently originally had, lost, regained, and has now lost again.

No - am not sure what an ibex has in common with a bat.

If I'm not wrong, that ibex only became extinct in the 1800s - the creature I'm talking about had been extinct for far longer - well before the first humans started wandering out of Africa.

Yes and yes. A flightless bird thought to have been extinct for around 136,000 years after rising sea levels submerged its Aldabra home, it was found alive and well in 2019.
