It is Cologne...the last man off was General (later Field Marshal) Harold Alexander. Later in the war, 1944, Churchill appointed him overall commander of the allied forces in Italy. Andrew Roberts' new biography of Churchill is very long but exceptionally well written... for those interested in such things.
