Stephen Hunt's corner was met by John Eustace, Stephen's brother Noel Hunt cut back a cross towards the penalty spot, Andre Bikey headed it goalwards and Loach acrobatically saved. Somewhere between Eustace and Noel Hunt's contributions 'assistant referee'

That's the one - Toeless Titmus, who made a seemingly miraculous recovery from his boating accident. I read only recently that the offending speedboat was being driven by Colin Cowdrey's wife when it happened & the whole squad agreed to cover that up.

A clue to the tenuous link:- Think Yorkshire man who's surname is the plural of the answer and his catch phrase was, "Give him the money Mabel!"
Could it be said that the student had a group of sea cucumbers on his nose before a big exam ?
