The first McDonalds I think. Thanks Yorkie!
The UK's first what opened in Woolwich in 1974?
Where would you find a rape, a lathe and a yoke ?
You're close enough Ak. both a rape and a lathe are subdivisions of a county - the rape being equivalent to a castle, a forest and a river (there were 6 of these in Sussex) - the lathe is the same in Kent. A Yoke is a smaller unit between a hundred and a lathe (also found mostly in Kent). They would all be found in the Domesday Book. Over to you.England. Rape and lathe are land measures but I am not certain of yoke.
ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmI will continue colognes land theme. Which English county had north, west and south ridings?
Yorkshire!
You are so right! I was so sure of myself...No. They had north west and east and Tipperary only had north and south which is strange as riding is from a Norse language word for third.

The Parts of Lindsey, now mainly in Lincolnshire, was a county I believe. A friend once taught at a college there.
Wow if you are right.... that is a good deduction....Given that Lady Mona K is a yacht that was owned by Robert Maxwell, is it where the negotiations between him and SEJ took place for the bid to buy the club? That was one occasion where the FA did actually show some spine and wouldn't allow it as he already owned Derby and Oxford.
