Can anyone recommend the xbox s one as thinking of getting it for my lad this Christmas. It's the one year I have some decent funds in (redundancy pay <laugh>).

They are still excellent mate just for a young lad probs be gutted to not have a new model, you can get the all digital ones for under £300 on both just means games are download rather than discs and that’s a lot easier in many ways anyway.

Aren't playstation and xbox doing away with the pay passes ?
Or just playstation ?

PS one isn’t as extensive as Xbox always been lower or free, Xbox will never be free it’s a very different product. Again, depends on usage and what you use. Not a dealbreaker for me but I would get some value out of it on Xbox.

It is now mate, about £40 per year on ps4

Yeah it’s always been lower, you get more new stuff and add ons with Xbox hence it’s been higher. Both are good value at the different costs if you use them fully. If you like new releases and lots of them then it’s Xbox, PS do the games later but lower cost generally.

My lads on xbox but i don't take much notice tbh.
The last game i bought on ps4 was red dead so been a while.
I check the two monthly free games out.

Xbox was always better online when ps3 was free, probably still better now but ps3 was a nightmare with server issues back then and disconnection.
Still get issues now though not as bad.
Game chat seemed to kill the pìss take furore though.
I used to enjoy giving the cockneys and yanks a ripping when the chat would come back on between call of duty rounds lol

You will always get server issues on the big games they will never fix that, Fifa on release day is a nightmare and they make billions a year off that game.

Good thing with Fifa if you but on current gen and then upgrade console it automatically upgrades the game at no cost, quite a big deal that as the game will be completely different on the new machines.

Fans walking out early if you’re losing and changeable weather, the realism will be another level.

The good thing about GTA and red dead is the free upgrades although as you say, server issues and glitches being as they are popular.
Although hasn't cod gone "free map upgrades" ?
The thing that pìsses me off is the way games have gone with the coin/gold system where you can pay to advance rather than play for it, greed over substance.

I stopped buying cod by the way.
Used to love it but it got samey then ridiculous.
Plus it's too frenetic now at my age.
Pipe and slippers games for me now lol

A lot are scrapping that now, it works for some games really well, I usually get the 2k basketball game and it’s unplayable if you don’t upgrade your stats early, that’s the only game I’ve ever paid in game for adds, where’s the achievement?

I can’t wait to see GTA6 on next gen it will be outrageous.

Basketball is like watching paint dry whilst on tramadol <laugh>

See I love it personally, went to Chicago last year just to see a Bulls game was bucket list for me, was fantastic. The whole show they put on is phenomenal.

Chicago was amazing as well, one of the best places I’ve visited.

Still prefer California mind.

No worries mate, everyone's different, as long as you enjoy it :emoticon-0148-yes:

Will be the PS5 for me. Better choice of games. The PS4 was less powerful than the XBox 1 but won that generation war hands down.

The Xbox S is going to crash and burn.
It will handle the games for the first year or two then it's really going to struggle as game developers start pushing to hit the specs threshold of the by far superior Xbox X.

If you must buy an Xbox the X series is the way to go.

I'm looking forward to playing Stray me like
