Yes I see what you are saying, but the efforts weren't enough as we only managed to get in one CB, who we can't judge yet as we haven't seen him play. I fail to believe that there are not a fair few CB's in the world who would be interested in joining us better than Fonte and Hooiveld, and LB's better than Fox. Not saying the money wasn't there for the defenders, just that it was massively important to of got some more in, because atm I am pretty sure that one of our back four or keeper are going to make a mistake in every game, and in this league that leads to goals more often than in the Championship.
Any thread posted whether it be positive of negative is just asking for the players to be criticised! For a long period we dominated them and could have increased the lead! We will come good! Up the saints!

Very pround and frustrated. My initial instincts after the game were as Ana said, bloody Van Persie, excellent striker takes his chances! Ahhh, United just don't stop do they, the amount of late goals. We surely have to come good, I don't want to be Blackpool! Well done guys. Adkins won't let them get too down.
Cast your mind back to our time in the Premier League...would we have been surprised to lose to the top two league sides....no, but we would have been surprised that we played so well and nearly got points from them. And we would have confidence that we'd get enough points to stay up, because we had done it so often before. I have every confidence that this team will do well and I am proud of them...they just need to see games out and they will. I would be more worried if we couldn't score. The fans at the game were more supportive and applauded the team off, because they knew they had witnessed a good performance. Not every team will have RVP.
I'm proud of the performance and the effort shown by the players. I'm old enough to have witnessed plenty of victories against the top sides over the years and although I'm disappointed with the result it was great entertainment. It was better than beating Carlise 1-0 that's for sure.
