I take your points guys and we can agree to differ. Would just say that a good ref would have seen the "goal" was uncertain and immediately checked his linesman's position. Quite clear then that he couldn't have been certain so overrule him. But that would require a competent ref and that day we had Linington.

OK, so it wasn't my last word after all - will you Wycombe guys stop going on about that "goal" and then maybe I'll do the same!?
 
I think it has been proved by video evidence that the linesman could not see because his view was obscured by players primarily the goalkeepers body which was ALWAYS obscuring his view. Therefore, he guessed. I was sat almost directly behind the linesman midway between the halfway line and the goal, but at a higher level and only because of that could I see.
 
Sorry Kasule, you have made a massive assumption there, which is that the lino guessed. He may well have thought he saw it. And you will never be able to prove it either way. However, either way, he made a call - a wrong one - and that's that. Matster - I agree, draw a line under it (and hope the ball doesn't cross it!)
