They ruined the EFL Trophy with that compromise and made it completely pointless.
It's supposed to have the academy players of the top teams play the lower league sides' first team players.
When do they schedule it? During the international breaks, when the academy players are away. <doh>
Utter idiocy.

The finances of the whole league need to be readdressed.
Parachute payments are not the way to go, as it creates situations like that of Norwich.
Go up, grab the cash and basically accept your relegation without a fight, as you'll have plenty of money.
Just give the money to the division as a whole and increase the overall amount.

No argument with any of that. <ok>

Just making sure you aint chatting ****e and getting away with it but libb already told ya so all good.

Except I'm on a thread where Livpl fans have done just that and with nothing of note to back it up, so my post was perfectly good. Truth hurts bro, accept the pain... but you don't care anyway innit <whistle>

Have they though? There's only really me luv and astro on here, I don't even like football, luv said he don't care or summin and astros pulling all your pants down again.

But way to go generalising

Dunno if he means me but a) I'm not for it, and b) I get enough flack on my own board for usually being the one to see through FSG's fake holiness: they got the club at £200m under book price because RBS said they were ready to build a new stadium, and ten years later they still haven't upgraded the Anny Rd. But Astro is bang on about motivations of all clubs (including Liverpool) and hypocrisy that was exposed after the lockdown and re-start. It's ****ing comical to think that the Premier League, which was only set up to stop elite clubs forming a European super league, has ever been about anything else. FFS, we're going back to Blackburn and the Royal Engineers in truth.

But I wondered what the selling angle would be - and the smoking gun, according to The Hate, is this:

As said, my instincts are against this, but I do like the idea of the Prem bailing Everton out to the tune of £250m rather than the council having to do it.

Having read what the proposal is... it's utterly laughable to be honest.

It's an extremely small amount of people that want these changes, but I cannot believe they thought this would pass. That is pure detachment from reality.

Apparently this is the 17th draft, I wonder what the first looked like?

- Liverpool and Manchester United will start every season with a 30 point head start.

- Liverpool and Manchester United will take 45% of the TV revenue each with the remainder shared out.

- Transfer fee limit of £5m for every team who hasn't won the league at least 18 times.

Hmm. Make it 19, just to be on the safe side. <diva>

I think Liverpool are the more ****y of the two, they've had a sudden bit of success after 30 years of worthlessness and near financial ruin and now want to run the shop like a returning messiah.

The level of arrogance to suggest the rest of the entire footballing ladder, bar the utter div mong **** ****head pig ignorant fella who runs the EFL, would fall to their knees and accept such a thing is laughable.

I thought it was a joke when people said football is dead, but two clubs have ran into the house with a pair of axes and look to chop the thing to pieces before our eyes <laugh>

Same here. Even if they/we could bribe another 8 teams as well as the top 6 to vote for this, I can't see the FA not pulling the plug on it anyway. They reportedly regretted letting the Prem get formed i 92 for decades. Far, far more likely that there'll be a European super league within a decade, probably with two divisions, or North and South regions. Something like the NFL.

30 years with two CL's, 1 Uefa Cup, 3 FA's, 2 Super Cups, 3 League Cups and one CWC. You'd ****ing die for such 'Worthlessness'. :emoticon-0100-smile

You mean Rick Parry - the massive lifelong Kopite and former CEO of errrrrmmm Liverpool, Him?

Double win for him that proposal, so no wonder the daft **** was lauding it. Only he was in cahoots with 2 PL clubs at a time that the EFL is trying to find a bail out solution with the actual PL. He should be sacked for the complete unprofessionalism.

We're beeling about Man City being owned by some state but it's these Americans who are ruining absolutely everything before them.

This absolute obsession they have with transforming our game into the NFL is just baffling. ffs, football has grown from humble beginnings into the largest sport on planet earth mostly without the help of these late comers and their giant sums of money.

Now, they've wandered onto the pitch, a big bag of dollars over their shoulder and say "this game we don't even watch, it should be like our game which is less successful, that would make your game more successful." Thanks for that John, but if you could go back to watching steroid using Neanderthals bat a ball into the stands that would be great.

The glazers are practically unemployed ffs.

jesus wept the game is in the hands of ****ing *****loids now.

**** it, bring in the Chinese and the Saudis these Americans are utter bells.

I was made up when I thought my Chinky bros were bailing us out in 2010 . At least they don't slowly choke black men to death on the street in broad daylight.
