I think this is actually the most important point. Everyone can be critical and expect failure and when it happens they get some sense of self-satisfaction, or a manager gets sacked and they're happy, or whatever it may be, but who watches football for that? Be happy when the team's winning and excited about the potential, and jump on for the ride!

Progress under LR? There's plenty. End of discussion, really. 21st a year ago, 6th now (and arguably should be higher). Scoring way more frequently, which was the main issue people had with the side. Last season, only two players got more than 5 goals for us. We've already got four above that at the halfway mark.


Though I imagine that when we next lose, we'll be inundated with more bile about how we aren't good enough. Even though most people here predicted us to finish midtable and we're well above that, of course.

There has been a lot of progress IMO, generally though tout the as a whole. I would also say there has been a marked improvement individually in Coyle, Slater, Tufan, Morton, Delap, Philogene, Jones and Greaves under LR tutorage as players, not the finished article yet, but certainly improvement.

They are.... But any one who seem to challenge LR and the same things we seem to be seeing week in week out are labeled negative..... You can't just challenge one way because it's the way you fancy challenging.

We're a team that plays like it's got the brakes on and is more worried about losing then going out to create a win. That's either down to LR making the players play that way or he isn't but he's not coaching/setting up in a way to stop it happening. Which ever it is, it just has to change immediately if we want a serious challenge this season ( or next ).

I'll stick my head above the parapet and say he's not the man for the job. He doesn't have the experience or the nouse to get this club and these players to where the people that matter (the owners and fans) want to go. I'm of the opinion he's stifling the natural skill and ability that was recognised in players when playing for other clubs before the club stumped up money for them. No real freedom of movement except in patches. More, he's definitely stifling improvement by playing people who are seen as favourites when others are sat on the bench. Forcing players out of the club, 'because he doesn't suit his style FFS' . Every manager in this division has him sussed and thats why we're treading water, hoping other clubs arounds us are treading water too. To lose to clubs currently in 21st and 22nd and before yesterday in 18th is just not good enough with the ambition and bar set so high. Worse on each of these occasions QPR, Massive and Swansea we haven't even turned up. We won at Sunderland because they didnt turn up. What does that tell you. He's been backed beyond backed for someone with his management CV. Acun has said he wants his supporters to be excited and for him to do an interview with Tan (posted yesterday) saying he wants the supporters to get behind the team and be more vociferous and try and drive them on says a lot for me at least. The support will do that naturally when we are playing and I mean playing. This is my opinion and anyone who thinks otherwise and wants to take a swing is wasting their time. As HT2 says, in the future he might be a good fit for this club because of his background, but his grandma isn't going to get this club promoted.

Genuine question to those saying he's stifling the natural skills and ability of players - how do you explain the clear and marked improvement of players like Delap, Morton, Tufan, Philogene, Coyle, and Slater under Rosenior? Some of those are younger guys you could argue have just continued a natural trajectory, but we and most of the league was shrugging our shoulders at the signing of Delap at the start of the season and now we're all clamouring for him to return. Philogene scored 4 in 37 for Cardiff and has 7 in 16 for us. Tufan was basically on the scrap heap as far as his career is concerned and is now being talked about as returning to the Turkish set up. Coyle has had a huge step up this year after last season being surpassed by Christie. Which players are LR actually stifling? Why do top clubs now seem happy to send players like Carvalho to us on the back of Morton's development if we're truly stifling their development?

Or is it the case that what LR actually struggles with is changing player's mentalities on game day in particular situations, which seems to be that a lot of our players think games are won before they actually are? Whether it's when 1-0 up against Millwall and just coasting, or before a ball is kicked as against Swansea? LR was glowing of the rapid ball movement and creativity of the early stages of Millwall so it's clear that's what he wants us to do, so it seems to me more of a communication issue and translation onto the pitch rather than any active stifling on his behalf.

I think it’s a bit premature to say he’s not the man for the job, quite a large squad overhaul specially for winter, we’ve basically just had a summer transfer window.

We really need more options though, all we really have is like for like changes. 2 stinkers in a row and when its clearly just not working at all, it’s the time to change to something totally different. Put a big man up front play an easier way to attack stick some balls into the box and hope for a lucky bounce. Maybe 2 lightning fast wingers, sit deep and go for rapid counter attacks. Whatever, just anything other than sticking to the very same game plan that has been completely snuffed out and in the enemies back pocket for the previous 60 minutes.

All the foundations are there but we are a one trick pony.

He has improved us compared to Shota (not hard really) however he won’t get us promoted.

Any half decent manager would be capable of a similar points tally with a squad like this, and like I’ve said previously a lot of these points came from individual brilliance rather than a masterclass in tactics.

Has there been many games this season where you’ve thought ‘wow, we’ve played them off the park today, I can really see the system/process clearly working’ cause I can’t! It feels like whenever we’ve won it’s because of moments of individual brilliance, luck, or the opposition just being terrible.

You just need to look at the teams with similar points on the table, look at their squad, do they have anywhere near as good as players? No. So clearly there’s something going wrong here.

Pains me to say but I feel like Adkins or McCann could do just as good if not better with these players.

It's not just this game though is it? Our performances and form have fallen off a cliff since the new year. I can't think of a game that we played really well in since then.

We were pretty lucky to get wins against Sunderland and Millwall given the performances over most of the game.

The irony of saying "oh we lost so people are moaning" is that the last 2 wins have papered over the cracks.

I don't think Rosie should be sacked, but surely you can see why people are questioning him?
