While it's true that the object of the game is to get the ball in the oppositions net, there are also skills involved in defending.
There are times, rare I admit, that a 0-0 game can be absorbing and entertaining, (for me).

Our 'Player of The Century', voted for by The Fans, was a Centre Half, while the most entertaining of forwards came second and a very effective local born forward was third.

However, were I a Preston Fan who had watched ALL their games, even I would have had more than enough of it with only two goals in over 630 minutes of play.

Gianni Brera, the great Italian football journalist, who is still still something of a legend there even 30 years after his death, said that the perfect game of football should end 0-0.
