They will be targeting more but 7 would be great. My two lads who don't get to many games are coming on 23rd so a win essential.
RTID As I have said many times before I will try and post both sides of stuff. I liked Hollow first time around although football was shocking. This appointment was a huge mistake, an appointment by TF to appease the fans who were on his back. I will stick by my guns and say we are only heading one way under him. He has lost it...in fact he lost it at Millwall. I would rather have Benny back.
I would like nothing more than Holloway to succeed with QPR but I can't see that happening. He tinkers with formations and players like it's a computer game! Take Pavel for example, full of energy, potential and promise on the wing so much so that Chelsea were rumoured to be sniffing around. Now ian thinks he's 2nd choice right back behind Cousins!. Freeman needs to be on the ball more so he plays him more central and rightly so, then purchases or loans numerous wide players and doesn' play anyone out wide or asks a centre forward to do it instead! The bloke is truly out of his depth. If he really wants to win games, start big Smith and Sylla up top with two natural wingers and go back to front directly like he tends to do from 65 mins onwards in every game anyway. As a supporter, you want to see progression as a minimum and surely the owners want that too otherwise what's the point? Yes I hear you cry, we have thrown money at it and failed but something has to give sooner rather than later. I seriously could do better than Holloway as the majority on here probably could and that would start with a consistent selection of players in their natural position enabling the team to get the best from an individual.
I've spoken to several Millwall supporters I know and to a man they all say it was exactly the same when he was there, non-stop chopping and changing of formations and players being played out of position to the point that the football was dire. It seems the players began to give up realising he didn't know what he was doing and they dropped like a stone and were relegated. If Ollie is allowed to take us into the bottom three I think it could turn very ugly at HQ...
He won't be allowed. They will have sacked him before then but then the question will be whether the new fella has enough time to save us. Perhaps we will be the first club with a female head coach?! At least it was broaden the pool of talent. Maybe?
Another great post Bob. Even allowing for injuries, Ollie is forever changing the shape and playing players in different positions. I honestly suspect that the thinks he's a bit of a Pep and that he can employ many different tactics and that it will work. His tinkering very nearly got us relegated last season and he has got to cut it out. Trouble is, I don't think he will because he really believes that he's doing the right thing. I haven't called for him to go as I don't think there's anyone out there who would get this limited squad fighting as hard as Ollie has. That may just keep us up. As with many coaches, he's very stubborn and that may be his downfall. FFS Ollie.................stop trying all these different things and play players where they're meant to play.
Sooper, I have seen many tweets from Millwall fans describing Hollow as 'Fraud' and mocking him for being s22t. It is a shame because this will only end in tears. I used to have good memories of Ollie and now I will only think of him as a cr2p manager. No other championship club would want him as a manager. As for the change? I keep hearing how good our goalkeeper and midfield is. I see the way he plays around with the team. Under a decent manager, we would be doing much better as we couldn't be any worse off.
Not at all admittedly not on form PNE are a good team imo and I can see them being in the mix come the important time The mix being this divisions crazy historical collective ... any team can go on a good or bad run and claim that 6th place It has to be the tightest division in football I totally admit that currently there are three strong sides that look head and shoulders above anything else but we have beaten two of them and did so well Look most of you couldn’t see QPR doing well at all especially while the club adjusts to a new more sensible format so why the big negative? I am honestly pleased that we have a competing side and club at the moment and that with many changes forced or otherwise ... I have to trust that The blame policy on here at times is crazy Isolate a player then slag him off ... then pick another one. You cannot see that because of the nature of being a fan of our club Bidwell for example apparently not good enough ... makes me fume. Watch the bloody game to me he is fine and looks solid Scowen is a great player Mass must run more than any player in this division I am guessing Freeman again outstanding and growing really well The pole is a very good player and could play a lot higher standard Our approach play is as good as any Sure our defence is currently hit by injuries but in Robertson We clearly have the best keeper in the division no one even close Sure our striker format is not clicking and looks clumsy hence why the manager is trying to get it sorted ... we do not take our chances imo because we have little composure in front of goal . I would agree that is a concern But sorry I am not joining in the slagging off This team is very capable of finishing in the top half of the league . No point is looking at anything else than that and that won’t be determined until April This lot is not going to change with a new manager and we cannot spend We are little QPR again rebuilding after a serious **** up of our club and heritage We have hungry players Bloody support them
We need the passion of Holloway without doubt imo I am not worried about results at all I want our club back and it’s getting there Fickle fans just watch MOTD to get your kicks ... or even worse the Champions league and you can pretend the sides are English
Well we know Mackie at least he wants to be here and earns his crust Cannot fault the effort of our front players closing down . Wish list a composured striker who anticipates the play Smith is great imo but too often there does see little anticipation that he will win the ball
Some great comments on here about Holloway's shortcomings, which all can see. We're sinking down the table inexorably and right now, if I was TF, I'd be quietly making enquiries about a replacement and whether there's a manager with talent that would be prepared to take us on. Still too early for TF to make a decision, but not too early to do some preparatory work. If we go down to the 3rd division, it can be a real struggle to regain momentum to go up again.
I think you maybe Watch the mood swing if we get a result next Saturday. There is the problem a couple of wins and it all changes The fact without any wind ups is that we are not a dreadful side Numbers and goals are all that seem to matter to many and they forget exactly our position and where we have come from I am certainly enjoying the current times better than the Harold years ... we were the joke of football I say one match ... the next match Forget any idea of promotion ... the club is nowhere ready for that Wolves etc will more than likely buy even more assets in Jan Villa the same and the remaining place ? Well imo too close to call Dreaming? Well after the top two it’s a cup competition nothing more We only have two players imo who would make premiership squads The pole and the man beteeeen the poles Anyone agree? If you do then hopefully it’s clear we are competing just to stabilise. That I feel is the reality and I can certainly see growth The ID of the club is on track We have had to cut our cloth to suit We have a team of players who are fighting for the club and it’s improvement. They are earning their crust imo
You might not be worried about results Paul but there’s a hell of a lot of us who are. Just ‘cos we don’t all agree with you doesn’t make us ‘fickle’.....we also pay our money, go to games and have our opinion. Personally I think Holloway could very well take us down.....but I really haven’t got an alternative....much a case of damned if we do, damned if we don’t.
There are a lot of people attacking Ollie for playing players out of position. I think he has had to go that way at the back or play youngsters he obviously doesn't think are ready. In defence of him on this, by going this way, we have discovered an excellent CB in LB Robinson, and judging on yesterday a very decent RB in winger Pawel. Don't know why he played Cousins or why he keeps playing Mickie and Conor when there are 2 more prolific strikers on the Bench, but what do I know.
I don't say it's a dead cert we'll go down under Holloway, but we're 6 points north of the dreaded bottom three. You're right that injuries have hindered our defence, but Holloway's inconsistent tactics and counter-intuitive team selections are as much of a hindrance . With luck, Birmingham, Sunderland, Burton and Bolton will keep shooting themselves in the foot, but who knows? Before Christmas, we are at home against Leeds and Bristol City, and away at lowly Birmingham. We have to pick up points, or we'll see a change of manager at the start of the January transfer window imo.
