That assumes that they know what is on the rumour mill and that they care what is on the rumour mill. However, given that the BBC was reporting this (and they hardly ever have to retract something they have actually reported), I can see the point in what you state. It's just a consequence of the shrunken world of communication when a few button presses can leak information globally in a matter of seconds.
 
Just went past LR. Park's signing is obviously big news in Korea and there's a couple of far eastern news crews reporting from the scene. See attached.

It never ceases to amaze me how obsessed Flyer is with me. Barely a day goes by that he doesn't come up with some pathetic attempt to get me banned. And this from a guy who's supposed to be ignoring me!

You'll have to do a lot better than that you pleb <laugh>

Think of the benefit if he/she is a man/woman of the cloth - child clothing is much cheaper.

Could disqualify him/her from theme park rides so not all roses.

So far as I can see, the Park signing had been been virtually global knowledge for days. Tony and Amit must know that, fantastic signing that Park is, it might come as something of an anticlimax to some, who had been hoping for solid announcements on, for example, other marquee players, new sponsors, new stadium etc, to trumpet a press conference and then announce stuff that's already in the public domain. It's barn doors and horses bolting. My question is simply, why not just announce in advance that it's a press conference on the Park signing? And to try and answer my own question, I assume it is because if they had, there would not have been the same level of interest ( in the pc, but not in Park who could potentially be sensational for us). May be Tony's in his office now, kicking his filing cabinet and shouting "Find me the mole!".
